Possession Type

“Thankfully, most possession types are considerate enough to refrain from entering others' bodies without their permission, but some…”

ID: 0709
Type: Possession
Category: Abstract
Height: 7 inches
Max Health: PERFECT (8)
Ability: GRAND THEFT CORPUS

Possession types can sacrifice health to enter an ascended form. They are intangible and can fly whilst in this form, and if they pass into a living thing, they will be able to control its body for the duration of their ascension. The target may be able to resist the possession type's influence, especially if the target is sapient or particularly strong-willed. The target and the possession type will also be able to communicate in headspace for the duration of the effect. It is possible to forcibly eject a possession type from one's own body, though the possession type can leave whenever it chooses.
Physical Appearance: Possession types have a standard body shape with two arms and legs. They have almond-shaped eyespots with slit pupils and upwards turned curved earnubs. Possession types have markings that run all along their entire body. The markings encircle their wrists, waist, ankle, neck, and head, wrapping around their eyes, further line-like markings connect these cuff-like markings.
Voice: Overlapping TCP babble.
Skin: Standard skin.
Fluid: Standard fluid.
Special Attributes: None.
Other Notes: Possession types can live in any environment without much issue, and do not have any specific living needs beyond individual preference. Many seem reluctant to use their abilities at first, and young possession types who do not get training from someone more skilled will often practice on animals or even plants before moving onto sapient creatures. They have an average activity level, but do require extra rest after using their ability. They are a social typing, and can easily get lonely- though many do prefer to hide away for periods of time, especially if worried about their ability use (or even the potential of it) possibly being discovered. They do not have a specific dietary preference, though they are prone to picking up tendencies from the last being they possessed. It is not uncommon for a possession type to grow attached to the target(s) they possess, especially if they are repeatedly in their shoes- the longer they find themself in their target's life, the more easily they get a sense of perspective for who that person is…or wonder what it would be like to fully become them.
