We invite Mozellechi over to gift him a couple things. He receives a magazine, a teddy, and a ball.
 
Sherlodius reluctantly decides to doff their wings, reasoning that they are too big to wear regularly during their married life.

Welcome back to the Bot Arena! Today's match is against Singularity and Paradigm of The Workshop. And let's just rip this band-aid off right away: We're going to have to cheat again.
 

"Aww, only two of you this time?"

As you can see, Singularity has the same armor as Schmoo currently does, as well the Torrika KR-2, a nailgun that essentially functions as an upgraded version of the Darsij. It has a higher rate of fire and deals more damage per projectile, giving it a far higher damage output. Its firing distance is very similar to the Darsij, having a maximum firing distance of 140 and a minimum firing range of 30. Unfortunately, that means that much like the Darsij, we can't beat this thing by getting too close- so that just leaves long distance as our only option. The weapon we originally cheated in for this purpose, the Raptor DT-03, only has half the total damage output of the Torrika, making it far too weak to be a viable option.

"Yeah, well... maybe later. I just finished explaining why you can't use it this match."
[incoherent grumbling]

The Torrika KR-2 is available to us in the shop, but that would leave Schmoo with an identical loadout to Singularity, which means that she only has a 50% chance of winning a one-on-one engagement with them, and she wouldn't have any health left over to tackle Paradigm with. Sooooo we need to cheat in another sniper rifle.
 

"Oh that's a big gun. Are you sure that's okay for me to have right now?"

This rifle normally appears a bit later, but I added the word "prototype" to the name and I cranked the damage down significantly. As you can see, while the range is easily enough to stay outside of the Torrika's range, the damage per minute is significantly lower, making this a... hopefully reasonable option for this stage of the game. Let's see how Schmoo looks with her new less-than-legitimate weaponry!

rimworld pawns count as creatures, right?

as some of you may know, rimworld released its newest expansion "odyssey" yesterday. it adds a LOT of stuff (as rimworld's dlcs tend to do) but its biggest point of focus is the new grav engine, which you can use to create a gravship and fly around the planet in what is basically a mobile colony. this means that nomadic colonies are finally, FINALLY for-real viable, which is something i've wanted for basically as long as i've been playing. ideally, building and piloting a gravship will be the focus of this colony...if i can find one.

otherwise, i don't have any specific goal here. i usually don't. maybe i'll go for one of the new odyssey endings? anomaly even? i'm not sure. i'm way more used to just playing until i get bored with a given colony

that being said, here's our starting lineup:

CHARLIE

the designated planter and, as necessary, negotiator. good at hauling ass, not good at hauling. especially not good at killing. i really really like the backstory combo of genetic reincarnation and dog walker. i don't know why he is one thousand years old

RYNYK

primary doctor and secondary researcher. has the best combat skill out of the crashlanders by far. more or less specialized in those fields exclusively, but maybe someday she'll get a couple points in crafting or something

FOUR EYES

probably the smartest bug on the planet. primary researcher and a solid builder. she also has a not-insignificant level of combat skill, but her genetic nearsightedness means she'll probably be more reliant on melee in a pinch.

ZEE

assigned cook, secondary builder, and backup doctor. zee is the youngest of the crashlanders in both biological and chronological age (i.e. the number in parenthesis under their name) but he has a nicely versatile spread of skills to apply as needed. his biggest weakness is probably a bad back from an unfortunate gene roll.


we also have a cat named lionel.

these colonists might look a little weird if you're only used to the vanilla xenotypes. right now my game is loaded with WAAAYYYY too many mods, a significant portion of which add a number of their own genes. one of them also adds a handful of random genes out of that pool to all generated humanoids. most of the time this will generate people with tails or random trait modifiers. other times it will turn a rabbit into a centaur with wings. i also tacked the bisexual trait onto all of them because i don't think the mod i was using to give every pawn a sexuality trait is updated to 1.6

 

our home tile is a grassland archipelago. there isn't a ton of space (or wood) to work with here, but hopefully we can figure something out... or we'll move to a different tile entirely. the latter will probably only be a last resort option, at least until we have a gravship up and running. this tile also happens to have the "windy" modifier (good for wind turbines, assumedly) and more fish. more fish will make for a solid food source once we have the research for it, but is especially relevant for our ideoligion. speaking of:

 

not anything crazy - there's already enough going on here that i didn't want a super impactful set of precepts on top - but i did want fishing culture to lean a little further into the "tidepool" theme. otherwise, it's pretty standard to the average rimworld experience, with a couple tweaks to allow polyamory and accept (non-colonist) genetic failures. those probably will not appear very often at all but i like them.

the next post about this colony will probably be a lot shorter just by virtue of having way less exposition to get into. updates will be.....maybe once per in-game season? more likely once per play session if i am being honest. goodbye

Moon 97
- Mistyash, Whalnose, and Eelshore are made into warriors. While the three get along, the brothers can't help but consider their lost sister Lakekit. Does she even know them? Does she miss them? They might never meet
- Riptidestem congratulates her sons, telling them she's always been proud of them. They're a happy family it seems, Wavestar eyes her warily from the background. She still remembers those early days.
- Rapidfern and Blueash cheer loudly as their perfect kit is named Ripplepaw. Ribbitmeadow smiles at their apprentice, but later tells Wavestar Ripplepaw is... a handful. Wavestar laughs, but Ribbitmeadow isn't joking.
- Clamheart finds his way back to the clan, and clanmates rejoice. Loosely, Wavestar still has hope for the others.
- When Swanpaw returns alone from a patrol, sobbing, Wavestar immediately sends out search parties. Two legs, again. Scaleblossom never should have taken two apprentices so close to two legs. Now they're missing Sandpaw, Flukedawn, and Scaleblossom. 
- The clan can growl and snap at her all they want, but she is trying to find their missing clanmates. She can't make them appear from thin air.
- Sunbracken and Gillgorse fund a tom and his four kits to take home, he needs help. He takes the name Couragecreek, his kits are Squidkit, Algaekit, Rainkit, and Crawfishkit.

Moom 98
- Leaklily has his single kit while on a walk with his mate Captain. Basskit is a pretty she cat, Breezethistle might kill them for being stupid though.
- A new cat named Scrub joins the clan, and takes the name Scrubheart
- Deeppaw is named Deepbumble.
- Mudpaw to Ottercrash, Toadpaw to Scrubheart. Apprentices. Wavestar wants a kit.
- Whalnose tries following the scent of a Doeclan cat trespassing. He follows it to a tree, just a step behind, hearing the young warriors warning as a dog snatches him. Doeclan sends their apologies, but the clan is grieving.
- A large patrol finds a kit, a sweet little she cat who wiggles her way around camp and asks too many questions. Wavestar decides in that moment she's adopting this kit. Her, her two mates, and a kit. It's perfect. She was adopted as well, so it makes sense.
- Breezethistle tells her she's overthinking this, but congratulates her.
- Captain and Voleshell take a risk exploring an abandoned two leg nest, and lose their lives ambushed by rogues. Wavestar has to personally inform the new queen, Leaklily, that his mate will not be coming home. The rest of the clan avoids the nursery at all costs.
- Fishbounce finds a bleeding cat and helps him with his litter. He takes the name Boatseeker and has 5 kits. Crockit, Gullkit, Finkit, Marshkit, and Cloudkit

Moon 99
-Stormpaw is given to Pearlyswirl to mentor under. The clan whispers about Wavestar's choice, but she believes Pearly deserves a chance. And her daughter will be perfect to show what the tom can do despite his disability.
- Leaklily doesn't want other cats attention, he wants Captain. Wavestar checks on him regularly anyway.
- Gooseflood and Rayshimmer help a loner escape a dog, and he joins the clan. He takes the name Rainnewt
- Cavesplash and Frogluarel bring back a kittypet named Coral

Moon 100
- Pearldusk falls into a Sinkhole and is unable to be retrieved.
- Ribbitmeadow is bitten by a snake and succumbs to the venom. Ripplepaw watches, everyone is sure she's upset, but she moves on and is given to Colby Jacksplash as her new mentor.
- Ghostwave retires, and Wavestar smiles happily at all the elders her clan can care for.
- Swanpaw and Barnaclepaw are named Swantalon and Barnaclestripe
- Softbubble adopts an abandoned litter from a rogue who doesn't want the three kits. Meaning.... kitnapping kind of. Wavestar doesn't want to support kitnapping but the three kits are so thin... Yes Fogkit, Swankit, and Crabkit will make wonderful additions.
- Scalechase and Cavesplash become mates
- Rayshimmer's patrol find an injured tom, barely older then a kit, and take him home. He takes the name Frozenghost.
- An older kittypet named Shantyspirit joins the clan.
- Floods take the life of Hookstream and Carpspeckle.

Moon 101
- Ripplepaw is pissed. Ripplepaw is seething. Ripplepaw is 10 moons old, a d manages to take down a full grown warrior. And she hisses her grievances out at Gooseflood as she kills her.
- Ripplepaw is not sneaky though. She doesn't do this in a secret place, she does this in the open, in the day. Cats scatter, Wavestar is startled, and kits are hidden away from the apprentice. 
- Colby Jacksplash won't meet her eyes, he stands with his apprentice in front of Wavestar. Wavestar has to make decisions alone.
- Wavestar makes two decisions. One, Colby Jacksplash is to immediately retire, she cant trust he wasn't involved. Two... she hesitates looking at the kit, asking if she has any reason to trust she's learned a lesson. Ripplepaw is annoyed, says there's no lesson, says Gooseflood deserved this.
- Ripplepaw is exiled, Wavestar won't listen to her parents as she chases the apprentice out. Colby Jacksplash watches, then goes to the elders den to hide. The other Elders won't look at him, he supposes that's fair.
- Rayshimmer is appointed the next Deputy, Wavestar needs someone she can trust. Rayshimmer and Kelpdrop with quietly mention they would probably retire soon but Wave... Wave just wants a few moons. She begs. So Rayshimmer listens.
- So much death, Drizzlesnarl, Spongeburr, and Crabkit are particularly affected.
- Colby Jacksplash swears he didn't know she'd do this, but Wavestar has had enough of him. He doesn't take deputy seriously. She's tired. She's done 
-Riptidestem finds a tom named Deliwave and takes him to the camp.

Moon 102
- The rogue crow has died.
- Pearlyswirl announced she's expecting kits. 
- Apprentices. Squidpaw to Finshadow,Algaepaw to Beaverleaf, Rainpaw to Gillgorse, Crawfishpaw to Gentleripple, Fogpaw to Caakirimist, Swanpaw to Duckdawn, and Crabpaw to Mistyash.
- It's a pretty boring moon so far, Wavestar thinks. They need it to be really.
- There's no luck finding their clanmates, Rayshimmer is tired, and Starclan won't give Wavestar a sign.
- Wavestar is awoken one morning to yowling, expecting the worst she races out of her den. There he is! Her brother, it's Crabgrass! He's home!
- Crabgrass, Wavestar, and Breezethistle have a wonderful reunion. Crabgrass is given back his position as deputy, and Wavestar has so much to fill him in on.
- Rainpaw has a seizure in the middle of camp, Moonfluff guides the cats around him on how to handle it, and stays with the kit after to make sure he doesn't have any more.
- While training some apprentices the clan find Floundermallow and takes her home
- Crabgrass's first patrol is to find a friend of his, Agnes, and bring her to camp. She takes the name Agnescurrent.
- Greenflood finds himself taken by two legs, and narrowly escapes. He suffers blood loss from jumping through a window

Moon 103
- Pearlyswirl moves into the nursery and hopes for a small litter. Stormpaw is assigned to someone else, but she hardly listens, she spends every morning visiting Pearly and bringing him prey. She's hoping she gets to mentor his kits one day.
- The medicine cats are a lot more worried about him not knowing when he'll be... ready. Sealeye and Pearlyswirl are begged by Breezethistle not to be wandering around.
- Gentleripple and Rayshimmer find a loner named Agatha and take him home. He takes the name Agathacreek

Moon 104
- Pearlyswirl and Sealeyes welcome a single kit named Foamkit. He's everything to them.
- Wavestar is surprised how different he looks from his parents, but he's just a baby. She congratulates them, and swats Stormpaw away from the nursery to let the family rest.
- Divepaw keeps making jokes as she's named Divefade, and Breezethistle tries her best not to show how funny she thinks the cat can be. 
- New warriors! Mudpaw to Mudmane and Toadpaw to Toadspore.
- New apprentices! Basspaw to Boatseeker, Crocpaw to Deepbramble, Gullpaw to Agnescurrent, Finpaw to Couragecreek, Marshpaw to Eelshore, and Cloudpaw to Dewmoon.
- Scalechase does not vibe with she cat and decided fuck you gender binary. Be like Scalechase, they know how to live

Moon 105
- In their dreams, the medicine cats meet Cutiebreeze and Reedfur again. They made it to starclan! But the clan won't see them again.
- Wavestar trues not to be devastated by the news, looking to starclan and begging them to send the others back. Crabgrass sits by her side, thinking about how alone he felt for so many Moon with the two legs.
- Wavestar hesitates with promoting Stormpaw to warrior. She's a kind kit, but will that serve the clan in a fight? Still, she names her kit Stormhusk and tells her to listen for starclans guidance.
- Divefade is also right, the gender binary doesn't suit them. Nonbinary cats are all the rage.
- A Doeclan warrior begs to join the clan. Saplingpaw, she's renamed Splashpaw. When asked about it at a gathering, Wavestar insists Splashpaw has always been her kit. Always.
- Toadslip brings a young shecat from Twigclan home, claiming they're mates. She takes the name Driftwood.

Moom 106
- Colby Jacksplash loses a battle against green cough. Wavestar and him never quite became friends again, but she will miss him.
- Ottertalon is swallowed by a sinkhole.
- Splashpaw is already ready to be a warrior, Wavestar is certain. She's given the name Splashskitter.
- Rayshimmer finds her later to talk, rambling about how he hasn't known her long, but he's proud to call her his kit.
- Moonfluff is stressed, and it keeps causing seizures. The medicine cats can't get her to relax no matter what they try.
- A group of rogues manage to corner a patrol, and Algaepaw does not survive their claws.
- A different patrol find Sandywhisker and bring him home.
- Wavestar finds a kit to bring home to her mates, who she fondly names Currentkit. He's adorable she thinks.
- Kelpdrop is crying when she gets home
- Rayshimmer was taken in a flood.

Moon 107
- Wavestar feels like she's not really here. Rayshimmer can't be dead. She's sure she keeps seeing him. She's sure he's there when she lays with Kelpdrop. She's sure he's watching the kits.
- Kelpdrop is so quiet. When he's not quiet he's crying. Wavestar and him stick close together, bit neither says much to their clanmates. Breezethistle brings them meals, but they hardly eat.
- Puddleheart dies in a fight with a rogue
- Driftfuzz, Squidpaw, Beaverleaf, and Paddlepath seem particularly affected by the lose.
- Garlicbat, an injured tom, joins the clan. I'm not changing this one.
- A small orange tom is found, and Wavestar takes him as hers. Names him Pondkit.
- Crabgrass and Coral bring an injured tom to camp named Miststreak
- A Twigclan apprentice waits at the border, says his name is Antpaw. He days starclan lead him there. 
- Wavestar looks at him, stares maybe a little too long, decides he's small for a 7 moon old and needs her. He's given the name Raypaw, as his black fur can only remind her of her mate.
- Fishshadow and Abalonelilac are lost in a flood, that promptly is followed by a blizzard. Divefade, ever the brave cat, goes looking for then alone.
- Breezethistle finds them not far from camp, having turned back. They're frozen, not breathing, Breezethistle weeps.

Moon 108
- Couragecreek dies from water in his lungs. Wavestar doesn't know how to tell his kits.
- Spongeburr, Pearlyswirl, Swantalon, and Gentleripple seem overtaken by grief.
- Kelpdrop seems antsy. He doesn't know how to approach his mate, she's dealing with the clans grief. So maybe, unceremoniously, at the end of a clan meeting, he blurts out he's expecting kits. Wavestar is overjoyed
- Fogpaw is named Fogbuzz, Caakirimist is so so proud to have trained the cat.
- After so many moons away, Arielecho is finally found. He embraces his ex mate, Algaewish, and their romance is rekindled. He'll have to learn to share with Algaewish's other mates.
- Beaverleaf is overcome with his feelings for Arielecho, but the overwhelmed cat rejects him.
- Barnaclestripe and Mistyash become mates.
- Toadspore fights a dog and gets a mangled leg.
- Splashskitter is too excited to meet an apprentice from Wormclan, Arielecho thinks. Splash sticks close to the tom, vouching for him to her mother that he's gonna be a great warrior. Oatpaw is renamed Egretpaw, he and Splashskitter chatter excitedly.
- An old shecat is saved from twolegs. She says her name is Playstationwisp. Breezethistle doesn't know if she'll survive her injuries due to her age.
- Breezethistle considers her own age and lays in the medicine den numbly for the rest of the day. Tunastripe pats her with her tail
- A kit is brought to camp named Shellkit.
- A kittypet joins the clan named Tiny. He is small, Wavestar thinks, but he's good at swimming and hunting and Wavestar gives him the warrior name Tinygull for his speed.

We check on the garden. The backyard animals are being very affectionate.

The mailman comes to deliver mail! It's another encouraging message.

I bust out the music player for Mozelodi, curious. She jams out.
 
The garden is dehydrated! Quick! Get the watering can!

There we go. Mozelodia spins on her head, pleased.

We harvest all the flowers and plant new seeds.

Our backyard is bursting with little friends now! We have: Zaneta the black cat, Marijo and Merill the gray dogs, Sunshine and Andreana the green aliens, Julietta the gray and white tabby, Valerian the brown tabby, and Karedio the white cat. Then read a magazine. This one is full of pretty girls in swimsuits. Mozelodia is thinking quietly.

We check on the garden. Mozelodia runs around while watering the garden.

The Matchmaker has begun to come by. Death permits her to bring a possible match. ...ehhh.... no thanks.

We have this ticket we bought a week or so ago. Now that she's an adult, let's try it.

Aisling clan, Year 1 - Part 1
Prologue
Umbreclan is falling, Shydust has warned them. A party of Melonflop, Ibisglare, Shydust, Ratfur and her kit, Burntpaw, Bluebellpaw and Moonpaw form. The apprentices are nervous but eager to leave, not wanting to fall for a clan that only ever mistreated them. Moonpaw is terrified but gods on regardless while Bluebellpaw has conflicting thoughts on their betrayals of Umbreclan. Burntpaw knows he has to be strong for his peers and doesn't express his distress… Keeps it buried so they can rely on him for strength.

 The party sets out, leaving their old clan behind. They think it'll take a whole moon of travel for them to find their new camp… Ratfur is scared for her kit but she can't go back now. They travel all day, hunt at dusk and sleep during the night, starting all over again in the morning. Shydust tries to reassure them all that Starclan is guiding them.

 During the journey Melonflop swears he hears the mewling of a scared kit, he follows the sound and scent until he comes across a tiny cream kitten. He looks to be three moons old and he's hissing wildly at Melonflop. The other cats meows are heard on the wind, calling for Melonflop’s return but he howls back at them to give him a minute. Calmly he asks the kit where his mother was? Promising he won't hurt him. The kit says his mother told him to hide when scary twolegs were coming… The he heard her screaming and she hasn't come to find him.

 Melonflop's heart sinks, asking how long it'd been. The kit says it's been a few days and he's so hungry. Melonflop's fears are confirmed, his mother was either killed or taken by the twolegs… And he couldn't leave the kit alone here to starve. He asks the kit if he'd like some food? He and his clanmates could hunt for him. The kit is nervous to leave his hiding spot but agrees… And is soon convinced to accompany the party of cats to the new clan… Melonflop and the kit bond closely, becoming father and son but Orchidkit will always have a little resentment for Melonflop for what he feels was making him abandon his mother.

 Later during the journey the party comes across a loner, she doesn't seem aggressive but the cats are still cautious. She introduces herself as Lindenminnow and asks what such a group of clan cats is doing out here? Melonflop steps forward and explains they are Umbreclan cats fleeing from disaster, they're going to form a new clan in a new territory. Lindenminnow nods, saying she hopes they can find it and then offers to help hunt with them as they looked unfed.

 They reluctantly agree. Melonflop and Ibisglare go with Lindenminnow to hunt, asking more about Lindenminnow’s life, curious about her clan name. She admitted she was once part of a clan, from the same territory they were from. Her clan had been bullied by Umbreclan for as long as she’d been a part of it, stealing prey, attacking cats and even killing them and one moon while out on patrol an Umbreclan apprentice took to mocking her and her clan and she reacted in anger, striking him down… She later found out he died from his wounds and she was exiled for it… She regrets her crime but there is nothing she can do anymore.

Ibisglare and Melonflop agree that what she did was wrong but they were once part of Umbreclan and they’ve seen how cruel it can be, they don’t blame her. Melonflop offers for her to join them, accompany them to the new territory and help with their new clan. Lindenminnow is surprised by their kindness and considers it for a moment before agreeing. Promising that her angry days are over.

Lindenminnow proves to be very valuable to the party, helping navigate over rivers and streams and carrying the kits across with her good swimming ability, this makes Ratfur appreciate her immensely.

 As they approach the new territory Shydust, Ibisglare, Ratfur and Lindenminnow discuss who should lead their new clan and all agree that Melonflop should be the one, he’s the one keeping the party together… And when he was part of Umbreclan all he ever did was try to be helpful, try to prove himself worthy to his clan even when they pushed him to the side. Ibisglare is less agreeable about this but ultimately sides with them but puts herself down as deputy, saying they’ll need a senior warrior in a position of power. No one can deny this and they agree. Later informing Melonflop who is startled but accepting, promising to make sure they don’t regret this.

Moon 0 
The clan arrives at the ruins, the territory of a clan long gone. This is the spot, Shydust declares and all the cats let themselves relax, finally able to rest after a moon long journey. That night Melonflop dreams, finding himself in the blue grassy fields of Starclan, everything looks… Empty, except for one cat who stands before him. He introduces himself as Redquill, telling him he’s come to grant Melonflop his nine lives… He presses his nose to Melonflop, giving him the gift of strength to overcome his fears. All at once faded starry cats appear infront of Melonflop, distant ancestors he assume, they all at once flood him with the rest of his lives. They chant his new name, Melonstar. He awakes suddenly, the sun seems… Warmer somehow.

His first command as a leader is to announce the apprentice’s new mentors, acknowledging the struggles they must have had in Umbreclan, promising them all that their new mentors would be the ones they deserve. Bluebellpaw bristles with pride as she’s announced to be Melonstar’s very own apprentice. Moonpaw shrinks, fearful as it is given to the apprentice killer Lindenminnow and Burntpaw is silent with worry being given to Ratfur, only remembering the intense violence of his previous mentor… Not wanting a repeat of those days.

 Ibisglare wonders what Shydust is up to, going to visit her in the medicine cat den. The old medicine cat is gathering a few flowers, nothing important. Shydust explains that they need to determine where they’ll burry their fallen clanmates, Ibisglare says it’s too soon to be thinking about such a thing but Shydust says she’s old… Soon she’ll pass on to the silverpelt, she does say she wants to take an apprentice before this happens but they at least should be prepared. Ibisglare reluctantly agrees. The two leave the camp together, establishing the burial grounds and even designating a memorial for the guide who brought them here, Redquill.

 Lindenminnow doesn’t get much sleep that night, struggling with being in a new clan… Having nightmares about the awful act that led her to be exiled originally, the dream warping, seeing the faces of her new clanmates glaring at her, growling and demanding for her to be kicked out. She wakes up with a start, it’s still night but she can’t let herself go back to bed.

 In the new clan Bluebellpaw found herself annoyed with Burntpaw, his hesitency towards his training and his willingness to leave Umbreclan... She considered him a traitor. Forgetting her own betrayal of Umbreclan. Burntpaw sees her scowling at him from the clearing and thinks about his life choices, remembering when he and Bluebellpaw were forced to fight each other as kits and than as apprentices by Umbreclan, he wonders if he had done anything different than maybe things would have been better.

 Zapkit asks her mother if they'd ever be returning to the old clan... Ratfur said no, that life is behind them now, Zapkit accepts her mother’s words, she doesn’t even remember her own father, only ever having seen him briefly. Ratfur notices Orchidkit looks worried about something and asks him what’s wrong, Orchidkit admits he’s worried to ask Shydust for help, he’s been sniffly since arriving at the new clan. Ratfur accompanies him to the medicine cat den and Shydust says it’s nothing major, just a little sniffly nose from the season changing to newleaf, Orchidkit is comforted.

Moon 1
At the start of the moon Zapkit was given an apprentice ceremony, assigning Ibisglare to mentor her. This excited Zappaw but she made a fool of herself on her first patrol, at least that’s what she thinks, being startled by a simple Kea bird, Ibisglare rolled her eyes at her as well unamused. Upon returning to the clan Zappaw tries to tell Orchidkit about her adventure and even tries to roleplay it with Orchidkit who just snaps at her to leave him alone, she doesn’t need him now that she’s an apprentice. Zappaw is taken aback saying no! She still wants to be friends with Orchidkit, admitting that she actually got scared by a dumb bird today… She’s still a bit of a silly kit, Orchidkit giggles and lightens up at that and the two play for the rest of the day.

 Burntpaw was given a warrior ceremony, named Burntdream and honored for his intelligence, Shydust had conferred with Melonstar to name Burntdream after the vision that led them to Aislingclan having seen how far he had come in the little time between now and Umbreclan. Burntdream spends time with Shydust, assisting her on herb runs as he detests violence, the two work so hard they make themselves sore.

On a patrol with her apprentice Lindenminnow finds an injured loner and tries to get them back to the clan for healing, unfortunetly the loner dies, the event shakes Lindenminnow and Moonpaw both. Though Moonpaw gets a new perspective on Lindenminnow after the fact, gaining some respect for her.
 
Melonstar while on patrol gets his foot trapped in a twoleg trap leading to severe injury, his faith in himself is tested but he spends his time soaking in the sunlight rays, trying to take in as much comfort as he can to soothe his painful injury. He hopes his clan will not see less of him. Ibisglare visits Melonstar in the medicine cat den, trying to support her leader even if she was a little disappointed he got injured so soon after their arrival at the clan. Melonstar invites her to soak in the sun with him and the two talk, Ibisglare and Melonstar both find themselves moving closer and closer to each other… Their tails curling up together subconsciously.

Shydust finds herself forming a crush on her deputy, seeing her gentle care of their leader when she’s in the medicine den. Shydust takes Bluebellpaw out on patrol to find herbs, the young apprentice has no idea what she’s doing and Shydust struggles to help her, the two instead turn to gossiping, Shydust amusedly chattering like a young cat while Bluebellpaw intrerjects with “I know” and “Oh my stars”. It’s sweet.

Bluebellpaw finds herself starting to dislike Lindenminnow, jealous and defensive as she brings back more prey than her and even viewing her attempt to save a loner as a way to try and one
her up before she can even become a warrior. Bluebellpaw later chases Burntdream down and asks him about warrior life, bombarding him with questions which Burntdream tries to answer the best he can, admitting that he’s maybe been working a little too hard.

Melonstar makes an announcement, saying that for now the clan should listen to what Ibisglare has to say, as he’s too injured to properly lead right now but he’s still hear to listen to any complaints or suggestions. Moonpaw listens closely while Zappaw has some complaints in mind, mainly to rid the territory of kea birds but she keeps it to herself.

Moon 2
At the start of the moon Orchidpaw is made Ratfur’s apprentice, the young cat is excited to start his journey to warrior life. Ratfur is surprised to be given a new apprentice so soon after her last one graduated but says nothing, appreciating Melonstar’s trust in her. Bluebellpaw gives some advice to Orchidpaw, having been an apprentice for a few moons now, telling him to just make sure he does his best and listens to everything Ratfur has to say, Orchidpaw respects Bluebellpaw’s opinion and nods along.

Shydust shares tongues with Lindenminnow, the two talking about their pasts in their old clans. Shydust still doesn’t approve of what Lindenminnow had done in her past life but feels more comfortable with the she-cat, seeing how she’s trying to better herself these days. Moonpaw later asks Shydust if she really trusts Lindenminnow, still having lingering fear about its mentor, Shydust tries to reassure Moonpaw that Lindenminnow is repenting for what she’d done and that Moonpaw isn’t in any danger. Shydust later witnesses Lindenminnow snapping at Moonpaw for its cowering around her, frustrated that no matter how she tries she cannot seem to comfort Moonpaw’s fears, Shydust feels Lindenminnow is acting too harshly.

Melonstar who is still recovering in the medicine cat den lounges in the sunlight peaking into the den, Shydust who’s old age brings her many aches stares longingly and Melonstar offers her a turn in the sun, moving over so she can cuddle up next to him and warm up. Shydust appreciates it.

The next morning Shydust can’t find Melonstar, she panics and quickly runs into the clearing and sees the injured cat limping around coaching Lindenminnow, Ibisglare, Zappaw and Moonpaw on stretches, they seem very displeased about being woken up for this. Shydust is highly amused but soon interrupts to take Melonstar back to the den, Melonstar shouting over her shoulder to the other cats to keep it up. As soon as he’s out of sight they quickly go back to bed.

Bluebellpaw is somewhat fed up with her mentor being in the medicine den and comes to him asking about training she could do on her own in his absence, Melonstar gives her a few pointers but asks her to keep going out with the other mentors while he’s recovering if she can. Bluebellpaw is unsatisfied with this, asking more questions which soon change into her asking him about his leadership duties, how he intends to run the clan while injured. Melonstar says he trusts Ibisglare to keep things going while he recovers, saying she comes to him here and he gives her his perspective but ultimately it’s up to her right now. Bluebellpaw leaves it there.

 While in the clearing Burntdream notices Bluebellpaw looks heavy in thought, he approaches her and asks her what’s on her mind. She snaps at him, asking him why he cares? Isn’t he a warrior now? Doesn’t he have better things to do now that he’s so important and busy? Burntdream backs down, upset by the outburst… Bluebellpaw is annoyed, half-apologising, saying she’s just… Annoyed, right now and to leave her alone. Burntdream sighs and does so, still hurt.

 Orchidpaw can tell Moonpaw is worried about him but he knows Moonpaw worries about absolutely everything so he shrugs it off and goes on patrol with his mentor, while on patrol the two approach the border and are startled to find a Delugeclan apprentice huddled in some bushes, trembling. He begs them to let him join their clan. Orchidpaw looks to his mentor who agrees and takes the terrified kit to Melonstar in the medicine cat den. Melonstar hears out the frightened apprentice, he introduced himself as Micapaw and says he’s fleeing from his clan because his mentor is a cruel teacher who pushes his apprentices to injury or death, he tried to plead with his leader to give him to someone else but was refused, he could only think to try and come here.

Melonstar looks at Ibisglare who seems worried but they both agree to take the apprentice in. Melonstar gives him to Burntdream which upsets Micapaw but he doesn’t say anything. Their patrols together don’t go so well, Micapaw is upset about training to be a warrior and Burntdream is doubting himself so when Micapaw asks him to ask Melonstar to let him be a medicine cat apprentice Burntdream reluctantly agrees. Melonstar is disappointed the two didn’t bond but places Micapaw with Shydust anyway. Micapaw is relieved…

Moon 3
Micapaw sneaks out of camp, going back to the Delugeclan border and meeting an apprentice he was friends with, telling them about how he’d been allowed to train to become a medicine cat. He keeps this meeting hidden from his clan mates. When he arrives home he’s quickly swept up by Shydust to go find herbs together. While out in the forest Shydust asks Micapaw to find some tansy for the den, Micapaw struggles to identify tansy, not wanting to poision anyone he comes back empty handed. Shydust is annoyed that she’s been given a cat with no experience at all with herbs… But keeps her mouth shut.

While on patrol Melonstar sents something on the border between Delugeclan and Aislingclan but can’t identify what it is, he returns to the camp to report it. This makes Micapaw extremely nervous but he doesn’t speak up at all, keeping his secret close to his chest.

Melonstar and Burntdream debate Micapaw’s apprenticeship to Shydust, Burntdream arguing that neither Micapaw or Shydust seem to be benefiting. Melonstar points out that Micapaw was never going to be happy being a warrior, especially given his past… Which is something Burntdream surely can relate to. Burntdream pauses in thought and then nods in agreement, saying he might have ultimately chosen to become a warrior he can understand why Micapaw wouldn’t want to be, relating to the apprentice.

 Shydust watches over her clan from the medicine cat den, noticing that Micapaw and Lindenminnow are sitting very far away from each other, Micapaw looking over his shoulder nervously at Lindenminnow… Shydust sighs, it’s probably because he’d heard Lindenminnow’s crime from one of the other cats, Lindenminnow just seems uncomfortable and upset. She listens in as Burntdream and Bluebellpaw have a chat. The two are warming up to each other now and Shydust assumes it must be because they finally feel secure in their new life here… 

 Shydust watches as Melonstar limps past Lindenminnow, not saying anything to comfort her clear worry. She’s annoyed that he’s given in to everything Micapaw has asked thus far, thinking they were too quick to accept another clan’s kit into their ranks… Especially one so troubled as Micapaw… Melonstar stops next to Moonpaw, sniffing at the air, then Shydust overhears him asking Moonpaw what he would do if there was a predator in the territory, Moonpaw is worried asking if there is one? Melonstar quickly says it’s just a hypothetical, Moonpaw feels little relief, saying well… He’d probably get a patrol to lead the predator away? Shydust can sense conflict in Moonpaw’s words. Melonstar nods, the two continue talking about this for some time, slowly devolving into some elaborate scheme to chase a predator that doesn’t even exist. At least… Shydust hopes it doesn’t.

Shydust turns her gaze to Bluebellpaw who is walking through the clearing, looking for someone. Shydust has faith in Bluebellpaw, seeing her potential as a warrior and hoping she’ll be made into one soon. She also notes how seriously Bluebellpaw takes the act of grooming herself, thankful that at least one cat knows how important keeping clean is.

 Elsewhere Zappaw it outside the territory, speaking with a loner. The two have a pleasant chat with each other.
 Ibisglare watches Lindenminnow training by herself, pushing herself to be a strong member of the clan, Ibisglare is impressed at Lindenminnow’s dedication to them… Thinking she’s come far from the exiled loner they first encountered. Later Ibisglare is the first one to praise Lindenminnow and Moonpaw when they come back on another very successful hunting trip.

Hey everyone, sorry it took me so long to get into Creaturefest properly, I attempted to run a Rimworld colony but got burnt out and anxious about it super quickly but then I started rewatching Galaxyclan on Youtube and thought, well hey, I could do that. And I was a little inspired by Ace's clangen playthrough too, shout out Wavestar I am so sorry that shit is happening to you girl.

Anyway, onto the clan itself. Melonstar and Burntdream are honestly top faves for me right now but I love this little family sooo much.

Melonstar and Ibisglare, I won't lie I ship them a LOT. They're so cute and I really hope the two can have kits someday.
Also when Melonstar first generated he was BRIGHT STINKIN' YELLOW!!! Which threw me through a loop- So I maybe uh... Edited that haha.


Burntdream!!! Drawn by my wife. He is SUCH a good boy, I'll spoil this much, He is ALWAYS trying to help cats out it's so sweet.
Honestly he was almost a medicine cat apprentice but I decided against it and the game made no indication that he'd wanna be.


Ratfur my beloved, she's honestly kind of useless with apprentices... I won't go into it much but I think Starclan has a different role in mind for her :3c


MY FAVOURITE OLD LADY!!!!, Shydust. A lot of the younger cats in the clan have some kind of dislike towards her but honestly given the fact the game generated her to be really tall and really strong I just think they're intimidated. She's really just a sweet old woman, if a little grouchy.


Last but not least, Redquill, the Starclan guide. He honestly doesn't have much going on with him because he always has the exact same status about guiding cats to Starclan but I do think he keeps a close watch over the clan.

- Wavestar attends to Kelpdrop's wishes. They're hoping for a small litter. Kelpdrop isn't a young cat, a large litter could strain his body, and Wavestar is too busy to be there constantly. 
- After speaking with Pearlyswirl, Sealeyes confesses to Moonfluff and they become mates.

- While walking the territory with Wavestar, Kelpdrop has their single son Waterkit.

- It does not.
- Playstationwisp turns off forever, red ring of death, smashed a controller, it's from a broken bone.
- New warriors! Squidshell, Raintooth, Gullfluff, Swanchase 
- New apprentices! Foampaw is given to Stormhusk, who celebrates mentoring her mentors kit. Currentpaw is given to Sunbracken, and Pondpaw is given to Frozenghost.
- Algaewish and Duckdawn break up. Duckdawn bitterly thinks they were just a replacement until Arielecho came back.
- Agnescurrent and Duckbramble become mates and it's everyone's problem
- Swanchase is informed that unfortunately, they're likely facing permanent partial ear damage.
- Raintooth struggles in a sinkhole. Shantyspirit and Scrubheart are unable to rescue him
- Riptidestem is ambushed by rogues and is later found dead. 
- Gullfluff and Swanchase trying crossing thunderpath, Swanchase is hit by a monster and dies immediately. The medicine cats weakly agree it's better she didn't suffer

Moon 111
- Duckbramble is expecting kits, she tries to lighten the mood. The clan congratulates her, but the grief is still tangible
- Orcakit, Pondpaw, Splashskitter, Egret, and Minnowsting are shaken buy the deaths last moon
- Cranewing and Mikhailfish have become mates, despite the craziness of the clan
- Deepbumble runs home with a swollen face after a bee stings him.
- Deliwave and Beaverleaf find an injured cat to take home named Iciclemask
- Egret and Driftwood bring home a kittypet who's injured. He takes the name Odddrift

Moon 112
- Oysterpaw is found, finally, after moons and moons away. Wavestar decides she has likely trained enough, and names her Oysterdazzle.
- Snailtide is rejected by Swanfleck and that stings
- Sealeyes rolls her eyes, having dealt with her mates both fawning over the other. She makes them talk, and the three of them are happy to be a couple.
- New Warriors! Finquiver is not enthusiastic, and Rayleaf has been a trouble maker from day one, but they've worked hard and Wavestar is happy to see them move up
- Mikhailfish is expecting kits! Duckbramble chatters with him excitedly. She's hoping for a small litter.
- For the first time Wavestar has ever seen in her hundred plus moons, the clan faces a drought. Gullfluff, Riverstripe, and Pondpaw lose their life. Wavestar holds pondpaw close after he passes, and tries not to let Waterkit know why she was crying.
- Iciclemask, Crabdusk, Floundermallow, and Toadspore are shaken by the recent deaths.
- The clan briefly catches wind of a brutal cat attempting to join other clans, claiming to be Rippledeath. Rapidfern and Blueash know it must be her, their kit. Rapidfern agrees with their leaders choice, but Blueash remains bitter.
- A training patrol finds a loner willing to join. He takes the name Shorespeckle and brings three kits, Jellyfishkit, Myrtlekit, and Otterkit.
- water finally comes, in a flash flood. Toadspore is swept away, and Frogluarel cries when returning to camp.

Moon 113
- Mikhailfish is hoping for a small litter, he thinks, as he watches Duckbramble and Agnescurrent care for their single kit Cloudkit.
- New warriors! Basspool and Croczoom.
- Snailtide confesses to Swanfleck again, and is again rejected. People avoid him while he sulks.
- Duckdawn finds an abandoned litter of 3. They say their father is from a different clan and left them alone saying not to go back. He thought one of then was cursed by starclan and given no tail.
- Breezethistle and Meadowmoss don't know what to say about the "curse" theory. No, a missing tail is not a curse. Duckdawn adopts Bluekit, Lobsterkit (the "cursed"), and Rainkit
- Garlicbat is taken by a flood
- A very injured tom is found, barely able to lift his head. The clan takes him home, he takes the name Quesowave but really only respond with tail thumps.
- A kittypet joins the clan named Salvageflood. He keeps talking about prophecies.
- A loner healer joins the clan named Iceripple, and the clan could always use more healers. 
- Breezethistle still misses her also apprentice, Divefade

Moon 114

- Blueash is expecting kits. He doesn't acknowledge Wavestar congratulating him
- After so many moons retired, Koipelt is found cold in their nest. They died sleeping it seems, good.
- Wavestar approaches a struggling Pearlyswirl, and offers him a chance to retire. No hard feelings, he can cuddle with Moonfluff all day. Pearlyswirl hesitates, but agrees.
- Swanfleck also retires.
- Shellpaw passes his test with another warrior, and along with Pearlyswirl retiring his last apprentice is made a warrior, Shellspeckle
- New apprentices! Moistpaw to Oysterdazzle, Soakpaw to Croczoom, Orcapaw to Finquiver, Jellyfishpaw to Swantalon, Mrytlepaw to Marshcove, Otterpaw to Salvageflood, Bluepaw to Shorespeckle, Lobsterpaw to Frogluarel, and Rainpaw to Miststreak.
- Beaverleaf does not manage to hear the Rueclan warriors warning, and dies in the jaws of a dog.
- Fishwhisker brings a loner named Tuftsand back to camp.
- Perhaps starclan is angry, perhaps, it's just bad luck. Pool is taken in a flash flood, and while trying to retrieve her, Crabgrass is caught in another downpour.
- Wavestar goes out alone in the morning to find them. She weeps with her mother the rest of the day. Almost all her siblings are dead at this point, with Fishwhisker still there to cry with them and Scaleblossom stuck with two legs. The rest... Starclan.

Moon 116
- Wavestar has to consider it carefully, and she does, but she's still unsure. He's technically young, more middle aged if you ask her. She's names Brinestripe as her deputy, hoping that Pool and Crabgrass bless them
- Blueash hopes for a small litter, all the stress lately is making him think kits would be an issue.
- Snailtide is found dead, curled up in his nest. Hopefully it was peaceful.
- Lightning strikes camp, unfortunately taking down Bluepaw. The medicine cats can't help the kit no matter what the try.
- The endless deaths rock the camp. Grief sweeps through the camp. Egretdrop, Pearlyswirl, Frogluarel, Mistyash, Swanfleck, and Breezethistle are particularly shaken.
- Maybe eager to prove himself, Brinestripe finds Rippledeath sneaking rats into camp one night. She is taken down, and killed, avenging Gooseflood. Blueash is bitter and angry, Rapidfern us reserved but understands the decision.
- Stormhusk pushes Foampaw, trying to distract her apprentice. She's so proud when he becomes Foamswirl, and the clan is happy to see how good they are as friends.
- Currentpaw works just as hard, and is named Currentdrift. Wavestar is so happy to have good this moon
- Wavestar and Kelpdrop agree, and Waterpaw is apprenticed to Brookmimic, who seems honored.
- Rippledeath finds herself in the dark forest, hissing and cursing her old clan.
- Cranewing is killed by a large dog while Cavesplash escapes a gang of rogues single handedly

Moon 117
- Blueash and Rapidfern welcome a single kit, Coconutkit. Wavestar finds Rapidfern outside the nursery to congratulate her, saying she didn't want to upset Blueash by visiting when he didn't want.
- Rapidfern waits a few days, then leads Wavestar in to meet the kit, Blueash smiling at the leader. He's starting to feel better, but it might take some time. She can wait she thinks.
- Gentleripple and Tuftsand join the elders. Brinestripe thinks there's too many elders, but Wavestar thinks this is what they deserve. Brinestripe visits different parts of the clan, wondering if he'd do things differently.
- Mikhailfish and Caakirimist have become mates. They say it's quick romance, Wavestar has known them for too many moons and must bite her tongue.
- Antareswaters and Gentleripple try hiding it, but the clan knows immediately that something has changed. New mates are amazing.
- Breezethistle leaves the medicine den... only to return to the den to get poppy seeds from Algaewish. He worries briefly about her mental health,  but she's constantly plagued by nightmares and he thinks it's sleeplessness not memory loss.
- A training patrol finds a tom to join the clan named Pelicanfeather

Moon 118
- Cloudtuft dies from water in his lungs
- Rayleaf gets his pelt torn by a fox
- Egret, Deliwave, and Miststreak find a young shecat named Yokaiturtle who is terribly sick. They hope the medicine cats can heal her, but Breezethistle is clear with Wavestar and Brinestripe this is a fight with starclan they might not win.
- Wavestar is relieved, it's been a fairly quiet moon. Brinestripe also feels relief, quietly understanding his leader a bit more.

Moon 119
- Wavestar smiles when her mate quietly asks, and agrees it's time. He retires, Wavestar makes sure the apprentices bring the elders fresh moss immediately and handle their ticks. 
- Brinestripe asks if that is maybe not the best use of apprentices, which gets an eyebrow raised by Wavestar. But... well... She has an odd reaction, and gives him Cloudpaw to apprentice. Cloudpaw is cold and hyper, Brinestripe is quickly overwhelmed.
- He asks Wavestar what the deal is, and she teaches him that the young cats of the clan need lessons in treating others with kindness, just as much as they need lessons in hunting and fighting.
- Cloudpaw actually seems to enjoy talking to the elders, Brinestripe doesn't understand kits.
- Cloudpaw doesn't like Brinestripe and walks away in the middle of conversations
- Meadowmoss takes a stroll alone one day, and is killed by a dog. Breezethistle is full of grief for her friend.
- Sealeyes is expecting kits! Her and her mates rejoice.
- Boatseeker is taken by green cough, Yokaiturtle is taken by red cough.
- So much grief for Eelshore, Ottercrash, Egret, Greenflood, Agathacreek, and Brinestripe.
- Wavestar is sick, so Brinestripe is supposed to run the gathering. Unfortunately the bad weather means no clans are there.
- Yellow cough takes a life from Wavestar, bringing her to 6. She tells Kelpdrop, Breezethistle, and then Brinestripe. Unfortunately, she then gets green cough. And it's bad, immediately.

Moon 220
- Marshcove has held out for many moons Wavestar thinks, as she has always believed a cat can overcome a disability. But he's slowing down, he seems lost. She asks him if he'd like to retire, and he agrees. Brinestripe again thinks he's too young for that, but Wavestar won't listen to him chattering.
- New Warriors! Chitonstripe, Jellyfishheart, Otterstripe, and Rainfern
- New apprentices! Jellyfishpaw to Quesowave, Oceanpaw to Flecktide, Penguinpaw to Fishwhisker, and Riverpaw to Arielecho. 
- Green cough takes a life from Wavestar. 5 lives left. She feels lucky she's gotten this far.
- Sealeyes wants a small litter
- Mistyash is expecting kits
- An old tom is found with fur white as snow, and joins the clan. His name is Hadarrain
- A day or so later he brings a young tom friend of his home to be a healer, named Stripedrown. Clan seems to need more healing paws.
- Miststreak flirts with a Twigclan cat at night, Wavestar says nothing, watching to see if Brinestripe picks up on the scent.
- Rainnewt and Barnaclestripe bring an injured tom home named Nezukodrip

When Wavestar does pass I'm gonna run the clan differently, for drama. So I'm kinda trying to find a reason. He's not evil hes just gotta be different. If he was blood thirsty he would be evil. 
Honestly it would be great if Wavestar just hung around for 100 more moons, would be so funny.

we were able to get through our first season more or less unscathed. we've got a nice little bunker set up, complete with individual bedrooms (a rarity this early into my colonies) and a surprisingly consistent power supply in the wind turbine. i'm not usually one to resort to turbines over solar or geothermal generators, but this tile's "windy" modifier means it's pretty much always generating power. even just the one has been keeping the grid steady for the time being. early renewable power is actually WAY more important here than i initially expected - there is extremely little wood to work with in grasslands, and after making the initial housing i've been storing it for use only when necessary.

along with the four bedrooms towards the top of the above image, you might have also noticed the extra one next to the battery housing. this was initially for simpson, a wanderer who asked to join on day 7:

 

 

not great - especially with that chemical fascination trait - but more helping hands are always nice in the early game. that crafting stat was especially convenient, given that our four crashlanders all have extremely low skills in crafting. i could probably start growing a little patch of weed or something for her and rynyk's chemical need-

 

well, fuck.

i'll be real i forgot that wanderers could turn out to be traitors. she wasn't a huge threat, thankfully, but she died as soon as she was knocked down so i wouldn't have been able to re-recruit her if i wanted to. such is life on the rim.

on a more positive note, this happened around the middle of the season:
 

that was... WAY faster than i expected. i was honestly scared we wouldn't see a gravship until, like, at least a year in. i'm not sure if this was a scripted event in the same vein as the guaranteed "imperial noble getting chased by a maddened small animal" quest or an insane stroke of luck, but i'm not complaining. guess we can start on that gravship soon.

speaking of that noble quest, i accepted it so i could give four eyes psychic wizard powers. her xenotype gives her psychic hypersensitivity, which gives her a LOT of potential to be a strong psycaster. vanilla psycasts expanded additionally gives me the chance to pick out the abilities i want via skill trees, as opposed to having them granted at random. i gave four eyes "word of healing" and "word of immunity" to start out.
 

we also managed to obtain a greatwolf named yolanda that fell out of the sky. hopefully we can recruit someone who has the skill to actually train her sooner than later

next season, we aim for the skies. time will tell if that comes out successful.

- Sealeyes and Pearlyswirl welcome three beautiful kits, all toms. Reedkit, Whalekit, and Fishkit.
- Moonfluff hesitates, worry making hin assume they want privacy. Pearlyswirl has to fetch him to meet *their kits*, reminding him he's just as involved in this now.
- Wavestar smiles at the family.
- Mistyash is hoping for a small litter he tells Wavestar, she agrees, small litters seem easier, tells him he should have seen what Breezethistle's large litters were like as kits. Especially in a clan with only 2 other cats. Breezethistle swats her for this. 
- Antareswaters is found dead by the Wormclan border, Gentleripple sobs.
- Pelicanfeather never recovers from red cough.
- New warriors! Soggystripe, Myrtledapple, and Lobsterbranch.
- Coral confesses to Drizzlesnarl, Drizzlesnarl rejects. Coral cries alone in his nest.
- Wavestar spends much of the moon trying to soothe Kelpdrop's aching joints. She's incredibly bashful when ever he coos out a thanks.
- A patrol brings back a tom named Neuroscientistfern, Wavestar let's him keep that name because it sounds important
- Marinedapple doesn't particularly like Brinestripe. Doesn't hate him, but they don't get along half the time. However, she's looking at him today and makes a decision
- "Brinestripe I'm getting you a boyfriend" 
- "Huh?" Brinestripe is suddenly paying full attention to her, stopping the meeting the mediators and leaders were having
- "I have a cat in mind. You're getting a boyfriend congrats" She walks away then, and the rest of the mediators follow
- Wavestar wasn't done but... okay she's done now.

Moon 122
- Marinedapple doesn't tell Heronclaw why he's to start meeting with her and the deputy, but he agrees anyway. Marinedapple is pleased the boys are listening
- Shantyspirit and Caakirimist retire to the elders den
- Orcapaw is named Orcafeather and Waterpaw is named Waterstripe
- Breezethistle might kill Barnaclestripe and Mistyash when they return with his 3 kits, surprise birth on a walk. Again. This clan is determined to give her a heart attack.
- Pearlkit, Ripplekit, and Fishkit are lovely
- Currentdrift is buried alive when a burrow collapses. Wavestar and Kelpdrop mourn their lost kit
- Splashskitter tries her best to gently reject Chitonstripe, but oh it's hard. Chitonstripe is persistent, and Splashskitter wants to hit him.
- Oceanpaw doesn't think she cat fits anymore, and starts telling cats he's a tom
- Breezethistle takes a fall in camp and ends up pretty bruised
- Sandywhisker is informed he has a weak leg
- A patrol finds a young kittypet to join the clan, her name is Little Ghost Tears.
- Waterstripe discovers that his mother, Wavestar, can also seemingly walk in cats dreams. They walk together, chatting excitedly

Moon 123
- Swantalon is murdered. Wavestar is sure, Brinestripe looks shaken by the idea. They ask cats, anyone, with any information to come forward.
- He plays it off perfectly, the mourning clanmate, but Spongeburr sleeps better that night then he has in so long. 
- Someone noticed.
- Croczoom is struck by lightning
- Brinestripe trues following Wavestar's lead and checks on clanmates, how they're handling the news. He's flattered by cats complementing him "stepping up"
- Cloudpaw flourishes at every task handed to him. Brinestripe is so proud. Wavestar decides that, even though he's 10 moons old, he's ready to be a warrior. He's named Cloudtail.
- Moistpaw is named Moistbreak, and Soakpaw is named Soakstripe
- Coconutpaw is too excited and shoves her nose into Flamingosnarl's too hard. Flamingosnarl laughs about it though, just happy to have such an excited apprentice.
- After attempting to avoid Marinedapple and Heronclaw, Brinestripe tries confessing to Bubblingberry. She laughs. He sulks off to hide in Wavestar's den for the rest of the day
- Their parents hadn't expected it, but the rest of the clan did. Stormhusk is overly excited to announce her new mate, Foambreak.
- Waterstripe envies his older sister, eyeing Moistbreak. It's just a little crush he tells himself. So what if "training" takes too long today, and they spend most of it racing and pouncing on eachother
- Brookmimic and Orcafeather find a kit to bring home named Lilypadkit.
- Agathacreek finds another kit, a 6 moom old, who he takes home named Drinkpaw. He's got a lot of energy even with being injured
- A cat named Teddydrip joins the clan

Moon 124
- Driftwood is poisoned by a sea creature and passes away
- Hadarrain retires to the elders den
- Coral can't seem to get any cats attention, sulking from Salvageflood's rejection
- Moonfluff is stung by bees! Bees! In camp! He struggles, the stress causing seizures. Sealeyes and Pearlyswirl try to comfort him.
- A training patrol finds a tom named Pearlyspot to take home
- Another tom named Waterrumble joins a patrol
- Paddlepath is ambushed by rogues and dies.
- Wavestar leads a patrol against the rogues, and manages to defeat them without losing another cat. Silently, she thanks Starclan for the strength
- A kittypet tom named Vanillanut joins the clan. He won't change his name, Wavestar let's it go.

Moon 125
- Moonfluff does not recover, and no one really knows how to comfort Pearlyswirl or Sealeyes.
- Tunastripe complains about sharp chest pains, and passes away later that day
- Farther away, Sandpaw passes. Starclan brings them home, Wavestar cries that night for being unable to save the young cat.
- Caakirimist, Turtlescreech, Fishbounce, and Shellspeckle are shaken by the lose of clanmates.
- Riverpaw is named Riverheart
- Lilypadpaw is given to Eelshore to apprentice under.
- The elders den feels oddly empty, Wavestar and Brinestripe visit anyway. Moonfluff had been young when she joined the elders, it's so... odd now. 
- Brinestripe also accompanies Wavestar visiting Breezethistle, who sobs from her grief near constantly. Breezethistle and Tunastripe had been mates for so many moons...
- An injured loner is brought to the clan by Cavesplash and Mistyash, she takes the name Floatbeetle

Moon 126
- Lightning strikes again, taking Chitonstripe. Wavestar thinks they're being punished, Brinestripe looks to Starclan wondering.
- Eelshore eats tainted prey and passes. Wavestar makes the clan get rid of half the fresh prey.
- Oceanpaw is given the name Oceanswipe
- Wavestar has thrown herself into her work this moon, desperate for something. Breezethistle could only cry when, after so many many moons, Scaleblossom is brought back to camp. 
- He's got so much more white now, Wavestar and him spend the day playing as siblings again, as if they were kits not old cats.
- Two injured cats are found this moon, an old female named Lakebeak and a young female named Toyotariver
- Waterstripe and Moistbreak finally make it official. Moistbreak is afraid Wavestar will be mad, but she just purrs when she's told and congratulates the pair

Moon 127
- Egret retires to the elders den.
- Reedkit follows Driftfuzz around every chance he gets, asking so many questions and keeping him informed on gossip he heard. Driftfuzz is honestly impressed, so when Reedkit is to get his apprentice name, Driftfuzz so generously offers the kit a spot in the mediator den.
- Wavestar seems to think Deputies should keep training apprentices, Brinestripe is given Whalepaw to train
- Fishpaw looks at his mentor, Shorespeckle, and smiles. He's so excited to learn!
- Sandywhisker sits with Spongeburr, unusually quiet. It's taken several moons, but he says it finally, he knows Spongeburr murdered Swantalon. He tells his friend he'd been waiting, hoping, he'd admit it himself. If he doesn't, Sandywhisker will.
- Spongeburr has to make a choice. He admires that Sandywhisker approached him like this, kept it private, wasn't quick to react. He goes to Wavestar that night, and in front of her and the deputy, admits to the murder. He's still surprised to be exiled, thinking his clan would embrace him, but no. No he was wrong.
- Much to the mediators surprise, Iceripple and Brinestripe announce they are mates. 
- This won't stop Marinedapple. Heronclaw and Brinestripe have something special.
- (I honestly just missed that this happened.)

Moon 128
- This moon starts off horribly
- Breezethistle was just going on a walk. That's it, a short walk. She doesn't return. Wavestar panics as minutes turn into hours, Brinestripe is out on a patrol looking.
- He returns solemnly, and she knows immediately. Behind him the patrol drags her mother's into camp, obvious evidence of a dog attack.
- Scaleblossom, Fishwhisker, and her, Breezethistle's last kits, weep over the body. 
- Algaewish is the head healer now, plagued by sadness. 
- No one is expecting Minnowsting to jump him in the middle of camp, and take his life. 
- Minnowsting must have thought grief was enough distraction for Wavestar not to banish him. He was wrong. He swears revenge on the clan.
- Toyotariver succumbs to Redcough.
- Wavestar struggles to breathe. Brinestripe is too sick to lead, currently the clan must follow the head healer. Mikhailfish is just as lost as everyone else, but he keeps going.
- Frogluarel, Toadslip, Teddydrip, Egretdrop, Rainfern, Foamswirl, and Waterrumble are particularly shaken
- Brookmimic think Fishsun couldn't have picked a worse time to confess
- Jellyfisheyes, Penguinflame, new warriors
- New apprentices, Riptidepaw to Mudmane, Pearlpaw to Sunbracken, Ripplepaw to Frozenghost
- Wavestar returns to her den after the ceremonies, but the kits at least deserved their ceremonies
- An injured kittypet is brought to camp names Snapdragonfloat. The clan leaders think they should avoid taking loners in for now unless they are healers.
- Starclan, or most likely Breezethistle, sends them two suck healers. Lightrapid, a young male, and Gooseegg and middle aged female.

Moon 129
- Ghostwave is taken down by a sharp pain in his chest
- Wetfleck loses his life whole on a stroll to a dog
- Green cough takes Swanfleck
- Myrtledapple dies of a rat bite.
- Wavestar sobs about the loses, her mind foggy with grief.
- Stormhusk attempts to cheer her mother up, informing the clan she's expecting kits. People congratulate her, Wavestar is happy, but she longs for her own mother to see.
- Sealeyes, Greenflood, Ripplepaw, Rainnewt, Clamheart, Brinestripe, and Splashskitter are shaken by grief.
- Coconutpaw is given the name Coconutshiver, and Wavestar can't help but worries for the silly cat.
- Sandywhisker is killed by a dog on patrol, cats whisper it's Spongeburrs revenge.
- A sweet kit is found just outside of camp. He takes the name palm kit.

Moon 130
- Kelpdrop announces he's expecting kits. Wavestar seems happy, bringing her mate food, but grief makes her slow. Age is really hitting lately.
- Stormhusk rambles to her father about hits, Kelpdrop grooming her fur. She's excited and nervous, and mad when she's forced into the nursery
- Flamingosnarl joins the elders
- Deliwave and Softbubble are committed to being mates. 
- Rayleaf and Rainfern have become mates, Wavestar congratulates her son
- Barnaclestripe is lost to quicksand and never recovered
- Brinestripe and Heronclaw continue to get close, grief allowing Brinestripe to open up about his woes
- Stormhusk has a terrible headache and wants 

Moon 131
- Thunderdaze dies in her sleep. She at least looks peaceful
- Kelpdrop doesn't know how many kits he'll have. Wavestar hopes it's a small amount
- Foamswirl and Stormhusk return from a walk. Stormhusk is carrying her large son with her. They name him Tropickit, and Stormhusk tells her parents she should have stayed home
- Lilypadswirl is made a full warrior
- Minnowsting is caught, finally, sneaking into camp. The clan chases him down and kills him. His hisses and curses their names from the Dark Rapid.
- Arielecho does not feel the same about Flukedawn
- Stormhusk's headache feels so much better. Must have been from the kit!
- Grousegull joins the clan as healer

Moon 132
- Wavestar and Kelpdrop smile over their two kits. Two toms... They quietly discuss names, deciding on Breezekit and Dunekit.
- Wavestar is still grieving. Brinestripe is dealing with Frostbite. The clan keeps looking to the medicine cats for guidance.
- Scrubheart is expecting kits
- Clamheart retires to the elders den.
- The mediators sit in their den wincing, watch Arielecho reject Flukedawn again, and Frogluarel not listening to them that Turtlescreech is not interested.
- Splashskitter and Drizzlesnarl think they're being sneaky, but new mates are always easy to spot.
- Patrols remain easy. Salvageflood does get a nasty bite from a fox
- The medicine den is overwhelmed, but Wavestar isn't much help right now. And food is running low.
- Food will have to come first, then she'll make the clan relax.
- Wavestar and Brinestripe sit quietly together, watching the clan. Wavestar watches him shiver, quietly praying to starclan they don't take this deputy from her as well.

The morning of the fourth moon Shydust awakens from a startling dream, Redquill looming over her with worry in his eyes before the calls of many cats come crying behind her but everytime Shydust tries to look for them they’re behind her again. She doesn’t know what this means but she’s sure it’s a vision of some kind… She spends most of the day trying to figure it out, hoping Starclan will send her a more clear sign soon. She hears Melonstar calling for a clan meeting and pads into the clearing.

 Melonstar stands above the clan, his leg has thankfully healed but it feels weaker than before, Shydust had told him he may always have trouble with that leg, still he refuses to let that stop him from looking after his clan. He announces he is all healed and to start off the moon he proclaims that Moonpaw and Bluebellpaw will be made warriors, he honors Moonjumble for its vigilance and gives it the name Moonjumble. The small cat nods, happy to have made it through its apprenticeship. Melonstar turns to Bluebellpaw and honors her assurance, noting that she did well to train while he was stuck in the medicine cat den, he names her Bluebellstare. Bluebellstare puffs up her chest proudly.

Shydust takes her apprentice Micapaw out to gather more herbs. With greenleaf upon them it was the perfect time to gather medicinal supplies, especially goldenrod. The two cats find themselves surrounded by tall flowers and the two exchange contact calls, meowing to each other as they work. It’s a very successful gathering and Shydust rethinks some of her doubts about Micapaw. Later Shydust is surprised when a yowl comes from camp, she runs out in time to see Micapaw fighting a snake, grabbing it and tossing it out of camp completely unscathed. She’s very impressed with her apprentice.

The patrols have awkward encounters with Baskclan and Fishclan both, the clan is still young and their presence in the territory is still fresh in the other clan’s minds… As well as Micapaw’s defection to Aislingclan… It’s no wonder they don’t seem to be warming up too quickly.

Moonjumble loses in a race against Lindenminnow and feels bitter about it, scowling and lashing its tail at its former mentor. Lindenminnow tries to make it up for the cat by bringing it prey and is surprised to find Moonjumble doing the exact same thing for her. The two laugh and sit down to eat together. As Moonjumble passes by the prey pile later it is suddenly ambushed by a group of rats, it yowls and furiously fights off the rats but not before being injured. The other cats come rushing just as Moonjumble collapses in pain.

Melonstar limps into the medicine cat den later to try and apologise for not helping Moonjumble sooner with the rats but finds it chatting with Orchidpaw, recounting the event to the younger cat and maybe exaggerating a little as it does so. Melonstar chuckles, reassured. He leaves the medicine cat den only to come face to face with Ibisglare who’s staring down at his leg… She tells him to get it checked out and to stop pretending like it’s okay. Melonstar is offended, he just wanted to be an attentive leader and not be caught up in the medicine cat den anymore but Ibisglare is insistent.

Melonstar begrudgingly goes to Shydust for help. Chuckling he explains the situation, saying his leg has been feeling inflamed and painful. Shydust says he’s lucky she likes his laugh, he should have been here sooner and Melonstar can only pout like a kit as she tends to his leg.

Moon 5
On the dawn of moon five Orchidpaw is woken up by Burntdream’s scent in the apprentice den, the warrior places a bundle of purple flowers down infront of Orchidpaw, saying he’s been doing so well as an apprentice he deserves a little gift. Orchidpaw happily takes the flowers, placing them in his pelt. Burntdream spends the morning telling Orchidpaw and Zappaw about the adventures he’s had as a warrior, perhaps exaggerating… Just a little.

Orchidpaw bumps into Melonstar outside the medicine cat den, he’s still limping and looking pained. Melonstar admits to Orchidpaw he’s maybe a little too eager to get back into his duties, he just wants to be good for the clan but he worries he’s not enough… Orchidpaw finds himself relating, he’s just an apprentice right now, not a true warrior and that’s all he wants to be. He feels a little comfort from his adoptive father before leading him back to Shydust to be looked after.

Melonstar feels a little better after some rest and goes on a hunting trip with Burntdream, they don’t catch much and Melonstar shares a piece of prey with Burntdream that is too small to bring back to camp. Burntdream appreciates the gesture. Lindenminnow notices the generous gesture when she scents the prey on Burntdream’s breath, glad their leader is so kind.

Bluebellstare brings Lindenminnow a large piece of prey, saying she looked hungry. Lindenminnow knows this is Bluebellstare’s favourite kind of prey and is very warmed by the gesture, saying so. Burntdream interjects to say his favourite prey is squirrel, Ratfur says “No way!” and admits that’s her favourite too… Bluebellstare is unamused as the two take her gesture as a chance to bond with each other instead of praising her.
 
Micapaw is dreading his apprentice duties and when Burntdream comes up to him he realises that he accidentally made a face at him, Burntdream frowns. Later Micapaw notices Burntdream is fixing a part of the medicine cat den  without being asked or telling anyone. He cringes as he realises Burntdream was probably going to ask him that before he weirded him out.

 Ibisglare sees Lindenminnow staring off into the distance with a blank look on her face, she’s a little creeped out. Lindenminnow snaps out of it a while later, stressing about her zoning out… She wonders if she should go to Shydust about it but when she does Shydust says she’s too busy tending to Moonjumble to attend to something so silly.

Ratfur plans to visit the medicine cat den to check up on Moonjumble, when she eventually does she meets Micapaw in there who is tending to it. She offers them both some prey and they all take a break to just chat idly. Moonjumble appreciates the company.

The clan is alarmed to hear from a returning patrol that a badger sett has been spotted and a new scent has been detected in it, indicating a badger has taken up residence there.

Moon 6
Micapaw awakes from a strange dream, he couldn't make out any images, only hearing the call of unfamiliar cats. He brushes it off, just a weird dream, nothing else. Shydust hails Micapaw down to talk about gathering some blackberries, as he does Bluebellstare excitedly states she’s seen some red berries nearby that looked useful. Shydust very harshly warns Bluebellstare to never pick red berries without a medicine cat to approve them before padding off with Micapaw. Bluebellstare is frustrated by her scolding, just wanting to help.

Melonstar calls for a clan meeting, declaring that Zappaw is ready to be promoted to Warrior, honoring her for her intensity and giving her the name Zaptangle. Zaptangle sits up as straight as she can, feeling very proud of herself. Ratfur and Ibisglare look on with similar pride, Ratfur almost crying with how relieved she was knowing her child had thrived since leaving Umbreclan, she never thought she’d be glad to see her kit become a warrior.

 Burntdream sees the pride and relief on Ratfurs face, remembering his partial resentment towards Ratfur for being his mentor. Remembering his first patrol, how he broke down crying over his fears of never becoming a warrior, over his memories of the violence his old mentor made him commit… Ratfur never forced him to do anything he didn’t want to but yet he still felt badly towards her… At least until now. He pads up to Ratfur, quietly meowing an apology for taking her mentorship for granted. Ratfur wasn’t expecting such an apology but she appreciates it regardless and the two bond over their old clan woes. Melonstar watches from the side, glad that Burntdream managed to tie up those old resentments.

Zaptangle brings his old mentor a piece of prey, thanking her for teaching her and looking out for her and her mother all this time and even for abandoning Umbreclan for all of this. Ibisglare smiles warmly, wrapping her paw around Zaptangle and saying she’s just glad the kid actually made it to warriorhood. Zaptangle and her laugh about their time together.

Zaptangle overhears Shydust and Melonstar speaking. Shydust is giving advice to Melonstar but it seems to be more of a scolding, telling him to be more careful on his weak leg and take things slow. Melonstar snips that he’s not slowing down like she is before limping away angrily. Zaptangle feels bad for Shydust and worries for their leader and how hard he’s pushing himself.

Moonjumble, who thankfully recovered from the rat attack, sees that Orchidpaw’s piece of prey looks tastier and asks if he’d like to swap, Orchidpaw agrees saying that he likes that one better anyway. Orchidpaw perks up as Bluebellstare approaches where they’re eating. The young cats gossip about clan drama, mainly Zaptangle’s vigil tonight and how intimidating Shydust is as a cat.

That night while on vigil Zaptangle is so focused on staying awake that he doesn’t notice the cats sneaking into the camp. He rushes into the clearing as he hears cries in the morning, Bluebellstare exclaiming that someone has stolen prey, the clan can see clearly enough the missing prey and pawprints leading out of camp. Bluebellstare snaps at Zaptangle saying he was supposed to be keeping watch! Zaptangle sheepishly apologises and offers to go on the patrol to try and find the intruders. Ibisglare is glad to have a clanmate like Bluebellstare as the young cat quickly organises a patrol.

Shydust suggests two separate groups go out, in case they’ve split up. Moonjumble interrupts to say that it, Zaptangle and Bluebellstare can go while Burntdream, Lindenminnow and Ratfur split off to make sure the cats haven’t gone elsewhere. The clan praises Moonjumble for the suggestion but Shydust’s tail flicks, annoyed that the young cat was complimented for her idea.

While in camp Shydust apologises to Melonstar for being so hard on him about his injury, saying she shouldn’t have to remind him about his own struggle. Melonstar sighs and says it’s alright, he has been pushing it a bit but he just wants to be useful for his clan! And apologises for his own mean comment. Shydust tells him he shouldn’t have to push himself, he’s already doing plenty for the clan… But she doesn’t know if Melonstar takes it to heart.

Moon 7
Lindenminnow confesses something to Ratfur, saying she… Admires the she-cat and would love nothing more than to spend more time with her. Ratfur is startled by the confession and panics saying she can’t- Lindenminnow is… Well… An apprentice killer… And she’s not sure if she’s okay with that just yet. Lidenminnow’s heart breaks.

Zaptangle is hacking up her lungs, last moon she pushed herself too hard on the patrol to make up for letting those rogues into camp, now she’s paying for it. Shydust says she has greencough and needs to stay in camp for now. Zaptangle is saddened to be spending time in the medicine cat den rather than being out there searching for the intruders.

Melonstar notices Lindenminnow has been looking down lately and offers to go out on patrol with her. They go and Melonstar attempts to cheer her up by splashing her with the nearby creek water. They go a little too far in the water and end up getting soaked, the two are laughing upon returning to camp but later Lindenminnow is coughing and visits the Medicine cat den, Shydust tells Melonstar she has whitecough. The leader feels immensely guilty.

Orchidpaw goes up to Micapaw claiming Shydust told him to tell Micapaw he has to change the moss in the warriors den today, Micapaw sighs and does so, only realising halfway through that Shydust would’ve just told him herself. Orchidpaw takes this time to sneak off and go on patrol with Ratfur, trying to avoid Micapaw’s wrath. On patrol Orchidpaw admits to Ratfur that he maybe kind of sort of had a conversation with a nearby kittypet… Asking if that makes him disloyal? Ratfur laughs and says no of course not, as long as Orchidpaw’s loyalties stay with Aislingclan. Orchidpaw sighs, glad to get that off his chest.

Lindenminnow lays in the sun of the medicine cat den, having been told of a great spot by Melonstar when she notices Burntdream sneak into the den and flop down beside her. She asks him what’s on his mind, Burntdream admits he’s been thinking a little of his old clan, Umbreclan… Saying maybe Lindenminnow is the only cat who understands what it’s like to hurt another cat so badly and regret it. Lindenminnow gets the young cat to open up more about his previous difficult apprenticeship and the two bond over their similar pasts.

Moonjumble and Ibisglare visit Lindenminnow in the medicine cat den as well, passing Burntdream as he leaves. Lindenminnow invites them into the sun with her and they take her up on the offer. Moonjumble immediately opens saying she shouldn’t have been playing in the stream if she was sick, Lindenminnow quietly says she didn’t think it was very serious… Ibisglare shakes her head and says the health of the clan is always serious, even if it’s minor, brushing her tail against Moonjumble to back off a little, saying it’s okay though… She’s sure Shydust can take care of Lindenminnow and Zaptangle both, looking over at the sleeping warrior. 

Moonjumble nudges Zaptangle awake a little later, asking her how she’s feeling. The fresh warrior admits this was all her fault, she let the rogues in and now Starclan is punishing her. Moonjumble just sighs and says it’s never that simple, saying with leaf-bare around the corner of course the rogues are going to get desperate. Zaptangle has to agree. Ibisglare who is still in the medicine cat den says even the dogs are getting desperate, admitting she saw a huge one just outside the border looking for scraps in the leaves. This makes everyone nervous.

Melonstar is feeling so guilty about making Lindenminnow sick, thinking surely his clan sees him as a fool, not just for Lindenminnow but for his accident too, they’ve all been watching him limp around on it and he notices their looks… He slumps into the medicine cat den, looking sadly down at Lindenminnow who perks her head up to greet Melonstar, he apologises for making her sick and Lindenminnow reassures him that she already was and she was just pushing herself too hard to goof off with Melonstar after… Ratfur rejected her. Melonstar is surprised and takes the time to talk it through with her, the two promising to each other not to punish themselves anymore.

Ratfur hears their conversation from outside the den, regretting rejecting Lindenminnow like she did…

Behind the scenes
Part two yay!!! I've been so motivated to write for this, we've even started a roleplay between me and Erin that we may end up publishing as a more cohesive story? We'll see how that goes. For now lets get onto the line up!


I hope I haven't been insensitive with Melonstar's injured leg, maybe he's been limping around a little too much? I'll think about maybe making him more recovered in the coming moons, I just find the idea of a disabled leader appealing as sooo many disabled cats in Warriors proper get pushed aside or killed off and the one leader we did have was basically tortured for being disabled the whole time which makes me sad x(

Also I'm sooo sad Lindenminnow got rejected, I want lesbian cats!!! Hopefully in year two? We'll have to see.

The big chat near the end, I love when I can make the cats have big social sessions where they're all talking and getting along, it makes me happy and hopefully isn't a drag to read.

Welcome back to the Arena! At Schmoo's insistence, we're going to start today off with a rematch against Paradigm and Singularity of The Workshop. I realized after last time I made the custom weapon a little too powerful, so I went back into the ActionScript files and made some adjustments.

Here's the original version of the weapon:



 

And here's the new, downgraded version:

The damage per shot has been lowered from 140 to 125, the rate of fire has been lowered from 59.4 shots per minute to 49.5 shots per minute, the maximum firing distance has been lowered from 200 to 180 units, and the weight of the weapon has increased from 10 to 12. All this means that we should have a much harder time beating the Workshop with this weapon, bringing this arena more in line with the difficulty of the rest of the game. The increased weight means we're forced to equip Schmoo with weaker armor for this fight, which happens to be the snazzy black armor she was whining about not getting to wear earlier.

"I was not whining. Whining is what robots do when they have too much dust in their ventilation systems."

With that, let's get into the match! Be sure to skip to 2:34 for the winning attempt.

"I thought you didn't like how difficult the arena was getting?"
"Yeah, but that was before I had a reality-bending god gifting me new weapons. If I'm going to cheat, I want it to be at least close to fair."
"Okay, I'm not actually a god, just- whatever. I'll explain it to you later."

Now that we have our consciences clear(er), we can talk about the real match for today- Scraptoria 2059! We've also got another chassis upgrade to perform, so we'll cover that as well.

"Why'd the two Slayers get thrown in here with the weakest weapon and third-weakest armor on the market? Did someone just run out of money?"
"They're probably decoys, to distract opponents while Reaper does all the damage."
"Horrid. I hope they at least rotate who has to be the cannon fodder."

The new chassis we'll be purchasing today is the Xeroi CLR-2050, its increased weight limit allowing Schmoo to equip some much better armor.

"Okay, this one just looks like a mess. Glad that'll be on the inside."

This chassis in particular is a drastic improvement from the previous one. Even with the latest armor and weapons equipped, there is still a generous amount of room for heavier equipment. If the arena rules allowed, we could even fit two guns on her.

With that out of the way, Schmoo's ready for her match!
