TCP: RECOVERY SESSION
#61
[Image: OXgnaU9.png]

SOMBROUS: I'm here to listen, then. I should've sooner, I'm sorry, Alto. You have my full attention so please tell me what's up and I'll listen, I promise. We really do want to be your friend.

ALTO: I don't like it when you do things suddenly without letting me know first. It scares me.
ALTO: I wish you'd listened the first time when I asked you to stop, but if you'll give me warning from now on... I guess I can forgive you.
ALTO: I want to be friends too, that's why I got so mad I think. When you didn't listen.
ALTO: So thanks for listening now, I guess. I think I feel a bit better now.
ALTO: You'd better keep your promise and listen from now on though!

we'll do our best to be worthy of forgiveness and keep to that! hmm, um, we could try and make conversation.. ask her if there's anything here she likes? or if she wants something we can get her

A couple of points but I'm bad at not being brutally honest:
"Sorry that we didn't stop sooner, we did not understand the totality of the request at first."
"Situations may arise where we forgo permissions, but those are probably rare."
"Your future friends will have other priorities than you, and might not be as capable of changing."
No commands, of course.

>"Understood. We will do our best to abide by these requests."
>"However, we have a certain pacing to our thoughts, a sort of queue of actions we can't take pauses between. If we ask if we can create or teach something, and you say yes, then the request WAS your warning and it'll happen immediately after. If you say no of course, we'll skip the action and continue the rest of our thoughts as though nothing happened."
>"We're sorry, we were so focused on trying to get you acquainted with existing we didn't stop to think you might want to get acquainted with us."
>"All that said, it's time to get into things. We wish to create consoles across this station showing basic things such as the status of the station, what immediately surrounds it, and the time. We also wish to create a room for you, so you may rest and entertain yourself. Allow us to give you these, and after you've rested we can set out on the first steps towards making this quilt."

>from now on, if there's anything you want to know about, just ask, and we'll teach it to you. You can choose when and what you want to learn.
Oh right we have signatures

SOMBROUS: Understood. We'll do our best to keep to your requests and be a friend worthy of your forgiveness! I'm sorry that we didn't stop sooner, we didn't entirely understand what you were asking of us at first. From now on, if there's anything you want to know about, just ask and we'll teach you. You can choose when and what you want to learn. There may also be some situations where I'll have to do things without warning but that should be a rare occurrence.
SOMBROUS: That said, we should probably start getting some stuff done. I'd like to create consoles throughout the station, and a room where you can rest if you so choose. Does that sound okay?

ALTO: Uh, alright, yeah! I'd be okay with that, I think! Thanks for the heads up.

You turn your attention back to the space station, ready to get to work at adding your various improvements, when you realize that something has changed.

My idea for a resting area:
Beanbag circle with a TV.

I rather not compartmentalize the space station yet.

Consoles:
Command Console
-Overview of station status and capabilities.
-Overview of subsystems and linked consoles.
-Can clear permission requirements (Override) on other consoles or lock everything out (Lockdown).

I say wait on any new TCPs because we don't know what the situation on other gods is. We should be enough company for Alto I hope.

alrighty lets GO
not with making tcps just yet trust is important but
Alto's ROOM heck YEAH

Create: Surprisingly sturdy pillow fort, with little holes in the blanket walls here and there to peek out of and one of those hanging bead doors (more rooms can be connected when more friends are made)
Create: Glow worm lamp
Create: 4 books, "The Curious Case of the Chimera Curse" (a fantasy/mystery novel about a group of kid detectives trying to figure out what's causing the folks in their town to turn into chimeras), "A Sailor's Guide to Tying Knots" (Self explanatory), "The Misadventures of Francine Fin" (A lighthearted graphic novel about a mermaid), and a diary (With "For Alto's eyes only" engraved on the top). The graphic novel and the mystery novel both have a note explaining that they are fiction, and are meant for entertainment, not as valuable information. The diary has a note on the top that says "Feel free to write in this!"
Create: Fuzzy blue pen with googly eyes on it.
Create: Patchwork Elephant Plushie (magic item)
Whenever Alto, or any other TCP, for that matter, feels especially stressed or paranoid, they can hug this plushie to have it magically assist them in figuring out why, what may be causing them to be feel this way, and to help them figure out possible solutions.
A plushie therapist, in a way.

Beanbag circle with a TV sounds like a great idea. Why not give Alto a game console and some games too?

If she says yes to a friend, we should ask her what types of friend she might be interested in, as well as if she'd like anything in particular around her.

maybe a pillow type? it would be soft and friendly?

Yeah, no new TCPs. We should start planning for an adventure soon, since I'm not sure if we can communicate with the other players just yet, and I'd like to get that situation sorted out as soon as possible.

CREATE: Consoles, pillow fort, bean bag chairs, TV, glowworm lamp, books ("The Curious Case of the Chimera Curse", "A Sailor's Guide to Tying Knots", "The Misadventures of Francine Fin", and a diary labeled "For Alto's eyes only"), pen, game console with video games

Alto lays the sleeping cap on the wagon before running into her new room to investigate.

Alto loves her new room! It's so cozy-looking and full of neat things. She doesn't really know what a diary is, but she likes the idea of something being just for her! She says that she wouldn't mind if you taught her about the strange little book and any accompanying skills that might go along with it.

You ask Alto if she would like you to make her a new friend, as you now have the opportunity to do so. It's okay if she doesn't though, it's important to focus on her too! Alto tells you that yes, yes, YES, she would ABSOLUTELY like a new friend. You're nice and all but having a friend who she could see and touch without having to visit that weird semi-real patchwork room would be awesome.

CREATE: Patchwork elephant plushie

Whenever a TCP feels especially stressed or paranoid, they can hug this plushie to have it magically assist them in figuring out what might be causing them to feel that way and to help them in figuring out possible solutions. Due to your synergy bonuses, this magic item has no health cost. Instead, the TCP who uses it will experience intensified emotions until either their problem is resolved or, barring that, until they cease usage of the magic item.

Spawn festuca type or grassball type or whatever you wanna call it
I don't know what strategic purpose it will have but I can promise it should be extremely adorable and a good potentially sturdy friend!!
(I am sorry if I get annoying with asking for them, but I really really like the idea of this type)

Oh and also TEACH Alto: reading and writing
And just explain the concept of a diary to her manually, a teach feels unnecessary for that

Again, I'm not sure if we can actually spawn another TCP right now, the slot's probably taken. I would have avoided asking Alto if we could create her a new friend, since I really wouldn't want to disappoint her like that.
But I guess we can't go back now, so...

Seconding festuca type, teaching reading and writing and explaining diary usage,
ask permission first, but if there's one thing that a really groovy chill room needs, it's a vibrantly colored shag rug so i think we should create that, also some cool games for the game console like Wipeout's Pro Skater 2 and Cooking Tcp (basically Morbit Cooking Mama)

Oh also, I'd like to say to Alto,
"Oh! A diary is a book that you can write anything you like in, some people like to write their secrets in them, others put in little details about their day, and some people just like to doodle in them... it's for whatever you can think of, or want to put in it! And, I promise that I will never read it unless you want me to. It's something you can know for sure is just yours, no one else's."
"Also, when you have time, could you tell me which one of those books you like the best? I tried to give you a variety of genre's and styles, so I can know what sorts of books you'd like most in the future!"

Also, seconding shag rug, Wipeout's Proskater 2, and Morbit Cooking Mama (after warning Alto, of course)
