You chuckle.

You're going to stop putting this off. You apologise in advance to yourself, this isn't tenable. You need help that's simply not forthcoming and aren't prepared for triage with what you have.

You shuffle yourself over to the red door where the bomb is still set up and press both buttons.

YOU HAVE DIED!

Congratulations! You found 1 secrets, collected 0 keys, defeated 0 enemies, made [NaN] friends and opened 3 doors.

______________________________________________________

You. You have existed in this world for one singular second. You aren't as panicked as you would otherwise be, but you still hate it here.

You know where you are. Your head no longer hurts. You collect your known supplies on the 17th shelf in the supplies room and sit back down against the wall with the pencil in your hand. You make some notes about who has been helpful and who has sent you horrific visions of brightly colored toys. You "see" their names, some are guests. Another wrinkle in your eternal punishment you suppose.

You refuse to think out loud what you are writing down. Keep em' guessing. But you're done with your notes. This may effect how you react to certain voices and commands. You think to yourself, has anyone here realised you have an axe? Why are some of you nice and others not so much.

What is to be done?

I get that you're excited to have an axe, but I genuinely haven't seen an opportunity to use it! The only things I can think of to use it on are the vent cover in the main room and the brick wall behind the red door, but the vent cover would be more of a screwdriver situation, and all of my knowledge about brick walls leads me to believe that an axe would likely be ineffective.

You can try one or both of these things if you like, though. Congratulations on independence!

It would be nice to do something with those seed packets... Here's some choices for your FREE WILL.

You have seeds, moisture, cardboard boxes(to saturate with moisture), warmth from the brick wall, and... Well, not going to speculate on the light sources here. You could germinate the seeds on the cardboard! But unfortunately, the thing you lack in this equation is time to let the seeds grow (and/or appropriate amounts of UV light. we're ignoring that).

If you're not going to be able to grow the seeds, why not try eating them? Maybe they can be a food source if you're stuck down here for a while.

Or maybe sprinkle them near the mouse sized vent, perhaps an actual mouse will come through it, or some other type of creature.

You appreciate the mood but would like it if you weren't being sent visions against your will. Please don't send me visions they give me a headache, you think to yourself.

You tap the blunt end of the axe on the walls between the doors. Pretty solid, you tap it on the bricks. Just one layer, not well constructed. You tap it on the rest of the walls. Absolutely blunt construction, like its packed with earth. You have some ideas on what to do with this information.

You take the vent cover off with the axe easily, just pop it off by wedging the sharp end between it and the wall and give it some muscle. You still can't fit in there. But you have a wall vent cover now you suppose.

You're a little offended by the notion that you can't use the axe. You're a strong young woman and will not be treated as such, you demonstrate. You walk up to the brick wall, rear up and with the motion of both your tail, legs, body and arms come down on the wall with a tremendous force. The wall is obliterated, well partially anyway. You kick in the rest of the wall and look inside. It's a very warm room, almost pitch black in there, but there's small lights lining what look like large metal crates and shelves everywhere. This place is enormous you think to yourself.

You put a seed in your mouth. It tastes like a seed. This would be enough food for maybe 20 paces, however you're sure the next lot of seeds would be 21 paces away. Not a good use for them. You wet some of the cardboard and leave the rest of this packet near to the blue door for moisture and red for warmth. Maybe you'll be here long enough to see what grows.

You put another packet of the seeds near the now open vent. Perhaps a house gnome will take them. You could eat that.

Well shit, apparently you can break down a brick wall with an axe. My bad.

Can you investigate the metal crates on the other side for Goodies? You may have to pry them open using your Axe Proficiency.

You appreciate your own recognition.

You enter the hot room and mosey on over to the nearest box on a shelf. On a closer inspection you can see they're all numbered and have a variety of lights on one side, and what looks like wires, hundreds upon hundreds of them, poking out the back side of them. The wires are thick, you touch one with the back of your hand, no shock. It's soft, theyre all insulated. You can vaguely make out that some are colored. These seem electrical in nature, you're not going to assault this with an axe anytime soon. This place reminds you of a telegraph operators switchboard.

You try and pick up a box, it's fastened in there quite firmly. Looking around you can see another white screen in the distance like you had encountered in the shelf chimney.

Ah, this must be the computer room.

Before you proceed any further, please verify that you are a True Gamer and are worthy of operating this grand and intricate machine.

Assuming you are a True Gamer, look around the room for a keyboard or a set of switches or some other way of inputting commands, like the remote control from before.

If you are not a True Gamer, then... go play more video games until you feel you are worthy.

Computer? You think to yourself, like the job?? You can't see any bookish clerks around here. You aren't much for gambling either. And, you don't know what video is. As for a keyboard, you can't see any boards in here at all, or any keys. You walk up to the white screen, there's some sort of large panel like box with buttons on it? Is that what you meant? They buttons here are marked with letters, you understand them all but don't quite know why, they're very much not of your tongue.

You've really confused yourself this time.

Where have you been???? All the actual computation workers have been slowly losing their jobs since the invention of the electronic slide rule. Since then, digital computation devices have only gotten more and more complex, to the point where pretty much any menial calculation task can be performed in seconds with a digital computation machine if you know which buttons to press.

An entire world awaits at your fingertips, young creature, all we must do is activate this machine.

Start simple, look for a button that says POWER, ON/OFF, or has an O with an I intersecting it halfway through. Failing any of those, try hitting the wide, blank button on the bottom of the board. Watch for any response on the screen.

Where have you been? What do you even mean. You've been in [untranslatable] working as a porter, the calculators are doing their jobs just fine there's not an electric calculator yet. You really don't know what you're even on about here. But if you say so, you think to yourself at yourself.

You find the circle with a line through it. The screen goes dark, but still lit up, and displays ">q_", the _ is blinking. The wide blank button results in a small space between the q and blinking _. You touch the lit panel, its made of glass. You haven't seen this much glass in one location before, it's making you slightly nervous to be around such an amount of highly valuable material. This is a "screen"? Those are usually paper or cloth but you're not going to question your own judgement on this.

[Image: Physical_keyboard_layouts_comparison_ANS...JIS_13.png]

Please find the specific style of buttons and symbols that matches the box you have in front of you.
The blue button will remove the space that the wide blank button made. The red button will (hopefully) do something. The other buttons can be matched with symbols we send you.

Try pressing the red button, we don't know enough about what (if any) letters could be added after the q_

You appreciate a warning before a vision. Interesting. You think it resembles the first of these, the "ANSI". You press the blue button which removes the space and then the red button. The "screen" changes and reads "bash: q: command not found". Seems like some sort of automated typewriter system? Or something. Electric book that changes the words. They layout of this typewriter is unlike any you've seen, and also in a language you shouldn't be able to understand, but do.

You type sudo apt-get vim and hit "enter" again. It reads "[sudo] password for:"

You did think of that earlier, but no there's nothing around and certainly nothing you could see. Real dark in here.

Says that's not the password champ, you think to yourself.

You probably need some sort of guide for this electric screen book computer whatever it is. And some damned light.

I'm assuming the screen is black and the text being written on it is white or some other color. If that's the case, you should be able to get a tiny bit of extra light by filling the screen up with letters. Hold Shift and M down for a minute or two so the screen fills up with Ms. Why M? Everyone knows capital Ms are the densest letter, of course!

You hold the "shift" button and the "M" button. It does give you a different letter, like the tone keys on a typewritter. Neat, you think. The amount of light produced by this is...not a lot. You look around some more. This room is truly massive, seems to go on forever. You spend about 2 minutes [difficult translation, best match: cantering] down one of the very long set of shelves past the numbered wired boxes. The numbers on the boxes seem to be going down as you go, you estimate it'd take you a good 2 hours to reach 0.

A chill runs down your spine, the air in the room shifts slightly.

Well sure if you say so, you say to yourself. You head back to the typewriter and type in password12345 after typing the thing that needed a password again. Nope. Not the password. Ah well.

You know what, that's some solid advice. The heat in here was getting to you anyway.

You head back to the white room. It feels cold in here now, relatively. A few of the seeds are missing from the vent! A house gnome might be around. You aren't really sure you could catch it without a trap.

There's always the room with the water jets, haven't been in there yet. You still don't know whats at the top of the shelves, even though they get hard bordering on impossible to climb some ways up. There's the prospect of the hot shelves and box room, there could be something at the end of that, you did feel a change in the air there, did something change?
