ok i hope this is allowed to make a generalized sale thread like this...i'm raggedy and i'm looking to, as the name would suggest, buy, sell and trade virtual pets. i mostly specialize in classic minipix, but i really want to get into other stuff too. 

i got most of these from the shop Wax's Warehouse years ago, and they're legit...but i want to see if i can find more interesting stuff out there, and maybe help other people in the community get into them? idk, could be fun.

you can post your own vpets for sale or trade, minipix or otherwise, even bootlegs if you really want, and buy people's stuff here. just mention whoever posted it saying which one you want and make an offer if applicable, and we can go from there. once you've got a buyer/trade, you can DM to handle shipping details. hopefully this isn't too disorganized...

uhh warning though mine might show up haunted. you've been warned

MINIPIX

BASIC MINIPIX- 10 CASH EACH
these are super simple and the first generation of minipix...got all your basic characters, a good starter pet. not asking for a whole lot on these, no limit to how many you can claim. probably will find more of these in my basement as time goes on? i kind of have a shitload...


GLITTER SPECIAL EDITION MINIPIX- TRADE ONLY
okay these ones are super rare and i'm not letting go of them unless you have something really cool- i'm talking other special editions, other models of pets, etc. they cost me a lot of money and frankly i'm inclined towards keeping them, so you're going to have to pry them out of my mitts. also, they come with 2 extra secret characters.


STRIPEY MINIPIX- 25 CASH EACH/TRADE
these are a little less rare and they made a lot of them, but they're still harder to get than the basics. 25 cash or a trade will be fine for them, and i won't be super picky on trades. especially interested in weird bootlegs?


BASIC EGGWALKERS- 35 CASH EACH/TRADE

i present to you the minipix eggwalker, a newer model trying out a weird new direction. these guys are bigger than the classic model and can stand up on a desk, and don't have buttons- you interact with them by tapping the front and sides of the toy. they have backlit screens, which is why they look black in the pictures (they're not on), and when they have shred batteries in them, they light up with a unique solid color background! i don't feel like turning them on though, so that'll be a surprise. the characters are still just monochrome pixels, but they can be different colors too. it's fun.

these come in some really fancy shell designs, but all i was able to find in my collection were the basic ones. i hope that's okay...i'm sure i have some more down there, and if not, i can probably look for some used deals on auction sites and link them here for people interested (i'm not going to scalp them). a lot of these are used but don't have anything more than light scuffs, i'm really picky about that. 

INVADERZ- 30 CASH EACH/TRADE

first off, added some new vpets- these are called invaderz, and they're a really weird one, more recent. they're kind of like...tubes of fluid with a little plastic creature floating inside, puppeted by the hidden strings inside- it's pretty effective, and getting that tactile movement is really nice. there's no stat screens, so you have to infer what's going on with them via sounds and motion cues, but it's very easy to play with and looks nice on a desk. really recommend these to people who want something simple and easy, just a companion for while you work or something. 

asking for 30 cash each because they're new and this is pretty close to store bought price, which is a great deal considering i've got some colors that didn't get super prominent releases.

[Jocelyn]: Virtual pets? I did not know you could own electronic life as a pet. however, Is it ethical to buy, sell, and trade them based on their rarity? you should really try to find them good homes rather than get hung up over appearances.

oh dont worry they aren't sapient. or even sentient. they're just programmed pixels, you have to shell out really big bucks to get ones that can actually think even with AI stuff...

though uh, mine do show weird "behaviors" due to my ability, stuff like the designs getting all borked and spooky images showing up...nothing graphic, it's basically like what you'd see in a darkest night store. i don't think they're actually alive, though!

Hello there, would you recommend these models to newcomers? I really love virtual pet websites but I've never had the know how or confidence to get into physical goods like Minipex or Fuzzobs. I would feel so so bad if it died immediately so I'm just a bit nervous, I have to say though the "haunted" angle is very charming and makes the idea of picking up a little ghost-y pet very endearing to me. : )

the classic minipix are kind of vintage and don't have a lot of features or a high resolution at all, but i like them! they were the first ones ever made and they're really simple, but people still go for them, so there's definitely some value there. i have some newer models as well with more features, but...basement. 

the only warning i'd have for the classics is that they're really loud. like, really, really loud. if you have sensitive hearing, you might want one of the newer ones with softer beeps.

I think I should probably wait for if you manage to dig up a newer version cause my roommate can be sensitive to sounds but also y'know how sometimes you see an object or a toy and just know it's meant to your friend? [BUDDING_HORROR]: Oh this seems really neat... I love little weird things like this. I'd love to pick up one of these lil virtual friends from you... but I'd like to ask some more questions first if that's okay! Trying to figure out what's the best fit for me.
While I technically can deal with loud noises I don't think that'd be ideal for me... so I'd like one of the newer models. Aesthetic wise the glittery ones are my favorite, but they're very rare so I wouldn't expect to be able to get one of those... the stripey ones are my next favorite, but really the shell doesn't matter too much. If all else fails I can just paint it to look how I'd like it to (I mean unless I do acquire one of the rare ones, wouldn't wanna ruin them like that)

But what's more important to me is the content of this program... can you elaborate on what you can do with the pets? And the haunting specifically intrigues me... What is "haunted" referring to? Are the character appearances different than usual, or do they act different?

Also are there any flower based pets in this game... or potentially even... have you observed any of your haunted minipix to alter in flower/plant based ways if appearence of pets or environment changes due to hauntings?

oh, and they're 35 cash a pop. i know that's kind of a high price, but the color screen ones are a lot more valuable, even if it's not super detailed. plus, they're highly desired for being more welcoming to newbies.

@[BUDDING_HORROR] i recommend looking into paints specifically meant for customizing toys...there's some special edition models that have removeable faceplates too, so you can just pop the front off and put in a custom paper insert. people do some wild stuff with those. what you can actually do with the pet varies based on model- the minipix classic is your basic care gameplay, with feeding, playing a minigame or two based on the model, and making sure it doesn't get sick and that it goes to bed on time. the character you get at the end is based on how well you do with care, so there's incentive to try and do the best you can (though honestly, i like some of the low care characters best...)

the eggwalker on the other hand has a lot more features. it has 5 minigames total, connection features with other eggwalkers (and some other models, i'll have to check my charts), as well as a lot more characters and even a step counter...while it's mainly meant as a desk pet, they wanted to make it so that you can "walk with your egg!" it's silly. i like them, but the fact that they're not super challenging kind of turns me off of using them too much- they're perfect for newbies, but i've played so many of these that i prefer ones with a little more depth. games are cute as hell, though. 

the hauntings like...they mostly just change the character designs to be a bit spooky sometimes, but not all the time. sometimes you'll just get normal characters, sometimes you'll get ones with like...big eyes, or wings, or ghost tails. i've seen some really weird ones, but it's really just a gamble. sometimes the beeps get kind of spooky, but they're not really distressing? it's kind of like stuff you'd find in a kid's horror special. sometimes you get spooky animations too, like a character baring their teeth at you in a big grin. 

as for plant characters, i have some special editions actually focused on raising plant and bug characters, but they're...kind of difficult. i'd recommend picking up a different one first, just to see if you like them in general.

Oh my gosh these eggs are so silly, I love them..... I'll definitely pick up one of those first just to get used to the whole virtual pet thing, but definitely mark me down as interested for the plant/bug ones, those sound super cool!

I'll think on it a day or two which egg I want... perhaps you uncovered some of the other colors at that point too

Would you be interested in any sort of non virtual pet related things for a trade too? I specialize in working with flowers, pressing them and making art with them. I could potentially make a piece inspired by a virtual pet of yours? I obviously understand if this is not of interest to you and would be willing to pay you instead.
