PIXEL PET RAFFLES
i'll make more graphics later
here you can get some incredible anthro tamag- i mean, uh. pixel pets. yeah. i have no association with certain digital pet corporations and these are fair use beings that have no relations to their business. parody, if you will.
we take commissions here at Homebrew Deviants, but as known by many here in the community, our system is also extremely busy and disability limits how much we can invest time-wise into them per week/month. unfortunately, this is kind of at odds with the fact that we live in a society and society costs money. this is a casual way for people to slingshot money at us and get some community benefit in the process- not only do your dollars help us out, but everyone can party together regardless of their own financial status. everyone deserves a chance to play touys.
there is no specific funding goal for these we just would like some walkin' around money and this would help us cover anything from rent to groceries to emergency funds to gender/identity care to goofy bullshit that makes us and como happy. if you're gonna take issue with that then ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
this specific pool is for anthro designs inspired by a certain virtual pet franchise that makes us very happy. they are one of a kind characters and you're free to do whatever you want with them as long as you're following our TOS.
each character listed here comes with three things: a rendered sprite (pictured in the list), a 3D turnaround ref sheet, and the second life avatar used for the renders in question. these designs are made through the beauties of second life kitbashing using our own (or collaborators that sign off on it thank you scrimblo world members) mesh and textures in-game to create unique designs without straining ourselves- and you get to use it as an avatar in a game, no less! if you want, anyway. you can also just snag that sick ref sheet and do whatever you want within TOS guidelines.
if this sounds good to you, let's look at your options for participation...
if you would like a funky pixel pet of your own
reply with which design's pool you'd like to be added to- once a design has at least one entrant, they will be eligible for entries for the next 7 days.
regardless of when the raffle starts and ends, all entries are pulled on Tuesdays PST, because we need some degree of consistency in our life and this was a major issue with keeping up with raffles in the past. ideally, stock will be added/rotated on these days as well, but that depends on donations/funding and also how we're doing with other work.
ref sheets will be distributed through forum DMs, and if desired, the second life model in question can be chucked over.
as mentioned, the SL model is OPTIONAL and all personal-use character rights are given to you regardless, but hey, if you play SL, free thang to run around as and pose and dress up. can't complain.
yes, you do need a forum account for this. it is free and you can do it and you're welcome here as long as you aren't a minor and follow the rules.
if you would like to contribute to the raffle pool
this is a donation raffle, where people can chuck money at us casually to make some quick designs for the community for everyone to have a shot at.
adding a design to the pixel pet raffle costs 15 USD each, donated to the Homebrew Deviants Design ko-fi. specify in your donation what "ticket" you'd like to fund, as well as an optional theme. larger donation sums may take some time, with their additions to the raffle spread out across multiple weeks so that we don't deal with the same issues we had in the past of "20 designs just got added and now i have to fucking make and distribute them Now oh god fuck my gay ass life".
contributing to the donation pool is not a commission, though you are welcome to throw your hat in the ring for whatever gets made for your donation. you will not have any further contribution to the design!
