Terms of Service
The Rule to Rule Them All
Premade design sales will be delivered as purchased, as the effort and time put into them has already been done. These are guaranteed.
However, anything custom, or an addon- these are not guaranteed fulfillment due to the vast majority of Homebrew Deviants Team Members being heavily disabled and often in financial crisis due to the state of the geopolitical climate.
We need funds more than we are often able to fulfill commissions because of this, and request that clients see custom work as a donation with high likelihood of getting something bespoke in return, even if it takes a while.
The work of disabled minorities should be seen as more than a transactional resource. If you would consider this policy to be scam-worthy or deceitful, when we're being upfront about not being willing to sacrifice our bodies and minds for drawing furry art on a rapid timer, your business isn't welcome here.
Less commissions is less commissions, but we'd take it over ones that treat us as a financial obligation over people who are sick and doing their best to help our community regardless by providing creative spaces and assets/tools to play with.

WE DO NOT SELL TO MINORS.
Full stop, while the offerings we have here in the Ko-Fi store are all safe for work, the stories and worldbuilds we are inspired by are not.
There are no exceptions to this and parties found providing our work to minors, as well as minors approaching us, will be blacklisted immediately.
Resale Policy
Designs are not eligible for resale on major platforms like Toyhouse, Furaffinity, Deviantart, Twitter, Bluesky, Second Life Marketplace, etc.
While we respect people trading character designs for money, that's not really an ecosystem we want our work to exist in. You are more than welcome to give away or swap with other people though, and private sales won't bother us much. They're your toys, after all.
Sharing/Co-ownership/Whatever
Sharing characters with others or co-owning or whatever is a-okay! Just don't make it our problem. Not our business and that's something to handle between people who are not us.
In general just don't make it our business, really. Universal rule.
Design Conduct
Once the design is yours, it's yours. These are not closed species and we are not going to regulate how you use them on your own time.
That said, if you are found to be using the design you've received for hate speech, fascist goals, conservative propaganda, bootlicking, and other such cowardly bullshit in this climate, you're getting on our personal blacklist and will not be sold to by any Homebrew Deviants Team Members.
Community Conduct
Any content found to be breaking the Scrimblo World/Homebrew Deviants Community rules regarding sexual/fetish/etc content we are willing to moderate in those spaces specifically will lead to appropriate kicking/banning and, depending on the violation, blacklisting from sales.
We just don't want to deal with it happening in areas we have jurisdiction, even if we can't do much elsewhere and assuming otherwise is ineffective, lol.
Creating + Selling Your Own
Adoptables/character designs/etc are welcome for people to make at their leisure, as all species under the Homebrew Deviants label are open.
However, we request that people do not sell designs made from our projects on aforementioned major platforms due to the fact that this shop is the main way the team of 10+ people and its affiliates currently makes income.
Exceptions are made for Second Life modkits and OOAKs that use our avatar parts and lore, seeing as there's extant culture and etiquette for it that we're happy to contribute to.
Other platforms, we either lack the experience to be comfortable with how business is conducted there or outright are uncomfortable with the culture around transactions in those spaces.
Crediting
Credit is deeply appreciated, especially on platforms outside of our own first party spaces such as Homebrew Deviants Forums/Hub and Scrimblo World, but we're not going to kill you for cropping something and using it as a casual icon or a website asset.
Commercial vs Personal Use
Designs and assets provided, however, are not inherently for commercial use.
We may make an avenue to use these as such in the future, but outside of things like contacting us for using a design as a mascot/Vtuber for paid streaming or something, this isn't up for negotiations at this time. No like, merch or anything.
We are more than happy to provide designs people feel comfortable representing themselves with in something like professional paid work, but we request that we're talked to first and proper "okay!"s are given so that we know what's up.
GenAI Training
Using our work for Generative AI training is not allowed.
HD Team Usage of Account
Different Homebrew Deviants Team Members and our official affiliates will be providing designs and commissions on this account.
These rules apply to all of them, but designers can have additional, individual rules if needed- these will be linked in specific listings to avoid confusion.
Team Ownership of Assets
HD Team Members reserve the right to use designs and related works/assets as specified.
Worldbuild/Species Sponsoring specifically provides the Homebrew Deviants Team with additions to be used freely for any and all purposes, with zero further input from the client.
This is specifically for people who want to throw some inspirations into the ring and give us funds to prioritize said work, and as such, are treated like any other commission listed here.
TLDR
Don't be a dick, don't make things our problem, respect us as disabled creators, and support those around you who need it.
We're here to help support more radical creative play and expression, and while we need funds to keep the lights on, these rules are meant to support that mission by keeping ourselves safe..
