here at the Homebrew Deviants forums, we value our community's safety and comfort above all else. to keep things running smoothly, here's our rules to follow!

0) This is an 18+ forum, and minors will be removed on sight. minors begone.

1) Be Respectful
respect your peers on the forum! getting into fights, especially out in public, isnt good for anyone, and we have a no tolerance policy for heckling, harassment, and bullying. 

2) Don't Be a Bigot
any discrimination towards people for their orientation, identity, race, disability, etc, will not be tolerated under any circumstance. 

3) Don't Use Slurs
for the time being we're banning slurs as a blanket policy- while reclaimatory slurs can be a powerful thing, we do not have the moderation capacity to check in that individual people are using them appropriately. they may show up in projects, but don't push it in suggestions. 

4) Don't Spam
spam gets things cluttered and is just kind of a nuisance to deal with, so keep your posts relevant and don't double post unless it's necessary!

5) Tag For Common Triggers
death, horror elements (both visual and written), gore (DRAWN ONLY, no irl gore allowed under any circumstances. costume and prop work are allowed, but have to be warned for just like anything else), alcohol, drugs, self harm, and abuse should all be tagged/warned for.  the only exception for this is within suggestions for project/quest/etc threads where the topics are present already- though it's always better to be safe if you're unsure. you can use spoiler tags

while we are a community that allows for heavy topics in creative content made, we do have limitations. sexual assault (SA), child sexual assault (CSA), suicide, and self harm are never allowed in a positive, pornographic, and/or joking context. it's allowed as a quest/adventure topic so long as it's part of the narrative, warned for, and not shown in horrible gruesome detail. that's just exploitative at that point and not what we want to encourage here.

sexual/explicit content involving minors and hateful imagery/ideology will not tolerated.

any content that gets excessive will be removed.

6) NSFW Content Only Allowed In NSFW Subforums
keep your NSFW content in the NSFW threads, no exceptions. if it involves explicit sex, detailed nudity, etc, it goes there, not here. in addition, any sort of kink content, no matter how nonsexual, should be kept to these subforums.

7) Post Threads in the Appropriate Forums
keep your threads to where they're relevant- this keeps our forums nice and clean. politics especially are to be kept to relevant sections. 

8) Don't Be a Creep
don't infringe on others' boundaries, especially if said boundaries have been made clear to you. if anyone is approaching you in a way that feels uncomfortable or inappropriate, contact a mod. we don't tolerate this kind of behavior at all.
