RESEARCH TOPIC: SPAWN POINTS

SP-1-1: Where are the local spawn points?

TCPs like yourselves spawn via the collective thoughts of people here on Morbit. If someone thinks of a TCP type, a TCP of that type will spawn somewhere on the planet. However, our research reveals that the locations TCPs spawn in are not fully randomized: TCPs come from specific spawn points, spread all across the world.

Spawn points appear to be limited in that they need to be in areas with enough space to spawn the TCP types that come through, but aside from that, can be in any location, including underground and underwater. Spawn points appear to be initially compatible with a type (a fire type will not spawn underwater, etc), but do not ensure initial survival (a fire type could still spawn by water, or in a rainy area). Many TCPs die early on in their lives due to insufficient resources or safety in their spawn area.

New spawn points can materialize, old ones can fade, and they're notoriously hard to track. We do not know why spawn points come and go, or what triggers their creation/deletion in the wild, but we have been able to create our own spawn points within the lab. You yourself came from one of our manipulated spawn points, allowing you to spawn in safety, and with resources at the ready. The more we understand these points, the more we can develop tech to help newly spawned TCPs.

Your task is to locate the spawn points in your area, wherever that may be. To find a spawn point, look for areas with higher TCP concentration, and ask those around you where they first spawned. Spawn points can be anything from a single location to a wide area, can sometimes focus on a specific kind of TCP (though not always limited to category), and have different levels of activity. Please record any details you can find about your local points, along with their locations. We may send researchers out to analyze spawn points of particular interest, so do your best!
