You look at the key with no small amount of contempt. Thinking that if that was the intention it couldn't have killed someone to perhaps put some writing on the wall suggesting or hinting as such. You roll your eyes and take up the key.

As you do so, the grotesque statue lowers its arm with a deep, resonating grinding sound. The bowl remains within its grip, however, as it moves, it exposes the presence of a keyhole on the chest of the gargoyle. One shaped like a droplet, matching the embellishments on the keys haft.
