[SHOP] ~darkest night readings~
#1
[SCRAP_GAZER]:

mods, feel free to move this if it's in the wrong place, i just feel like it's more well suited to the paranormal board than the shop one.

darkest night approaches and while it's kind of cliche, i could use some extra cash to fund my travels, and i may as well market based on my skills.

as a scrapmancy type, i can use my ability to divine information from scraps....even long distance. with some additional witch technology i've had a friend develop, i can divine from even simple photos of objects that contain scraps in them, or photographs of scraps themselves...even if you can't see them. ever wanted to know what kind of memories something you own holds? have a spooky part of your house that you want examined? suspect a ghost, even?

hell, i might even be able to work with a photo of yourself, provided you're willing to DM it.

this deal only lasts until darkest night itself, because i don't have time to play psychic year round. readings cost 10 cash for objects, 15 cash for photos of places, and 25 cash for readings on a selfie. don't send me pictures of other people unless you're willing to get their express consent and prove it to me in some way. i'll do as many readings as i can before the darkest night deadline, and if i can't find anything, i won't charge.

if you're going to claim this is bullshit, don't interact. if you're a skeptic, feel free to make yourself at home- besides, even if you think it's fake, what's the harm in having a little fun on a holiday?

[SCRAP_GAZER]:

it varies based on the kind of scrap presented, but generally it has to do with the three core components of a scrap itself: memory, energy, and emotions. within those three components, it can be anything, really.

This TCP, the one you all called Flick, would like a reading. They are comfortable sharing their image publically, as it is already public. They would like to request a personal reading and have the requisite CASH for a reading on a selfie, that is to say at least 25 Csh.

[SCRAP_GAZER]:

got the cash, here's your reading.

i detected two scraps budding within your person, and one about to shed- all of them page scraps, so that's likely to be your affinity. the one that's close to shedding seems to be related to you nearly finishing some kind of creative pursuit- expect the emotions from that to get really strong by the time you're done, and just try to ride them out. if you're able to get your hands on some witching gear and catch it before it gets lost somewhere, you could probably get it mounted onto some thing personal and have an extremely useful tool- it seems important to you.

the buds are a bit different. one seems to be you processing something rough that happened to you lately- i can tell there's a lot of hurt tangled up in there. the other on the other hand is a lot more positive, with a sense of triumph associated with it. if you "feed" that one by encouraging those kind of emotions, that'd be a great one to gather up and get mounted as well. the other one, though...i'm not sure about. every scrap has its uses, but deciding what purpose that one could serve isn't really my jurisdiction. i don't advise for trauma-based scraps aside from "be careful".

page scraps aren't really useful for things like combat or defense, but tend to have much more extensive emotional and memory records than a lot of others. great for archival. they also make for good divining scraps as a result- technically i got a lot more information out of them than this from even just a quick long distance peek, but there's only so much i'm willing to divulge publicly when it comes to more personal scraps, sorry.

hope this was interesting. there's likely to be a ton more scraps budding within you right now, as is the case with literally everyone, but those are the most prominent that i could detect.

This TCP has found this exchange both fascinating and enlightening. Flick finds Gazers ability as a diviner to be truly staggering in its potential, Flick is truly nearly the publication of their latest poetic work, the first in a series of poetry novels based upon the seasons.

Flick has experienced much hardship in their life, and this series has begun to help them process it, triumph is incredibly apt.

Flick sends many thanks your way. They shall see about this witching equipment.

[SCRAP_GAZER]:

this is a very personal item, i can tell already. it has at least two significantly sized scraps attached to it, all of which can be very clearly read. both of which are...it took me some time to decipher, but i think they're a rarer kind, identified as "digital" scraps. you don't often get ones that can only be described with nouns, but i suppose that would be your affinity, considering this is something belonging to and presumably used by you. digital scraps are more common with people who have a deep connection with technology, and as such, are best used alongside technology when put into witchcraft or wizardry applications. you actually see these often used in construct building, seeing as they're highly compatible with mounting onto electronic equipment and devices.

the first digital scrap i see seems to relate to feelings of accomplishment- you must have done something significant with this object recently, from what i can tell. it carries huge feelings of success, and i would say that if you could gather that one up, it may actually be useful for mounting into the gamepad itself. the actual applications that come from that are varied, but if you speak to a specialist, i'm sure you can get something worked out. however- some may accuse you of cheating with a modified device, so that's up to you. scrap mounted devices are typically banned from competitive scenes unless proven to be an accessibility device...though since you mentioned not having arms, you might actually be able to find something to help with that.

the second however, relates to frustration- i sense a significant amount of overcoming obstacles, and struggling to get up that metaphorical hill. while some of it does seem to be physical, a significant amount seems to be related to the games themselves. this does not inherently mean you shed scraps from losing at games, but perhaps more finding games that work for you and your situation, and frustration at the industry at large. while this may seem overblown and unnecessary for shedding a scrap, rest assured, i've seen a lot of scraps relating to feeling outcast by corporate practices and a lack of accommodation. while it may seem strange, this could be an even better candidate for mounting into a gamepad or similar gaming equipment- channeling that frustration into something constructive may actually prove to be beneficial.

i hope this is interesting for you, and gives you some answers.

(gonna put this all in one post, to keep from spamming the chat too much. wanted to get a chance to do something Halloween-y this year! I think this should be 75 points altogether, depending on how much Astral's costs)

[ROGUE_WOODSMAN]: I'm curious what you'd find from a picture of me, but I'm not comfortable sharing it in this chat. If I send you a picture on Messiroom, could you delete it right after?

[_chill_]: alright it took me a day to manage to get a pic, i try to avoid this section of the shop
[_chill_]: I've gotten chills (pun not intended) around this spot for months and I'm not sure why
[_chill_]: specifically this corner of the shop, specifically this corner of the ceiling
[_chill_]: had a ledge and everything, made it into a little room for myself, but now it's just...eerie, and I can't figure out WHY
[_chill_]: nothing horrible has happened here that I know of. I used to chill here all the time so I would've noticed if anything happened. I had to move my laptop and everything, it was so unsettling. I don't THINK it's a ghost, but I don't know what to think at this point.

(linked is an image of wooden rafters, and a small platform among them, with a doll chair, side table, and lamp. there are a few cobwebs here and there, but other than that, no signs of life, past or present)

[CUDDLE_MONSTER]: i had trouble deciding which of my collection to use, since i have so many items id love to show you! is it ok if i send you an image with multiple items? i can send you another picture later with less in it if you need!

(linked is an image of a large yellow tcp arm with multiple bracelets on it. some are made of beads, similar to kandi bracelets, some are threaded friendship bracelets, and some are charm bracelets. there is a lot to take in, and a lot of colors.)

[ASTRAL_ABERRATION]: I have been interested in the scrap arts for quite some time now, and I'd like to see what you can gather from this picture. It is one I have drawn myself, digitally, but I want to know if it elicits the mood I am going for. I am more accustomed to words than I am with art, however, so please do forgive its...rough form.

(linked is a digitally sketched image of a blue forest, with a single wooden red chair in the middle of the frame. the trees around it curl in towards it, and there is a trail of red fluid leading up to, but not touching, the chair. there are eyes in the forest. the moon hangs high above the scene, unfinished.)

[Afterlife_Signal]:

I'd like a reading if those are still open. I have one picture of an object and one of a Place

[The first picture is of what appears to be a page of a flower/plant journal, there is a pressing of a sunflower, with sketch depictions of seeds, leaves, the flower itself, and petals. There is also what appears to be a small doodle of an umbrella. Each of these items has accompanying written text describing what it is, with a note at the top of the page that says "sunflowers from around home"]

[The second picture is of an ocean sunrise taken from the shore. there are quite a few clouds in the sky, but not enough to be overcast. The colors are what you would mostly expect from a typical sunrise, except there is a green tint around the sun. There is a caption that says "Ocean Sunrise, [date & time], Wonder/Precipice Border". You note that the photo is dated 35 years prior the current year, but has indications that it had to have been taken with a modern camera.]
There's a 95% chance I'm thinking of either a Pun or Mega Man at any given time
