[RW] My Rimworld Forever Save (Until 1.7)

Reviving this thread! I see the last update was the uh...... divorce. That goes somewhere interesting, hopefully I'll get to that as I start to update the forum to the current playthrough. Gonna be doing things a lil differently and more like how I've been doing it on my tumblr, hope yall enjoy. Any questions, headcanons, etc are very welcome these are my toys and I want to share them!!!

I feel as if this is important to include from the previous update before we move on to recent events. After the divorce Gerjorn adopted the wayward child Chlogan into the Beershield family. Chlogan was a child we freed from slavers who'd just been hanging around without any solid residence... I usually try to get the kids into one of the families or at least give them parents but Chlogan came off to me like he didn't really want all that, until now. I saw him feeding little Morgir (The child Gerjorn and Shivak had right before divorcing) and went yup... new beershield kiddo.

Moving on though! (From here until the current updates I'll be using the words directly from my tumblr account, with bonus commentary if I feel it needs that)




"Oof sorry for not updating consistently lately, been feeling a little dooky lately. Anyway! We went out on a little exploration for a run down town or street or something? I don't know exactly what it was but it looked like a city, anyway we found a bunch of stuff and took a couple prisoners. Not soon after we had a drop pod raid, it went mostly well but at one point something started exploding really loudly and brightly and all my colonists ran into the buildings. It eventually ended and we took out the raiders but it left a big mess! We took a couple prisoners but we're probably just going to release them."

Fun fact: For the longest time my colonist just would NOT feed the prisoners or talk to them, nothing outside medical attention. I thought my game was just bugged in some weird bullshit way but actually the culprit was the multifloors mod. It breaks the work types up so different levels can have different work types assigned to it and my ground floor just didn't have wardening on? I have no idea why... Really pissed me off for a long time, but it's fixed by the recent updates! Feel bad for my prisoners...





"Two more babies were born in the meantime, Fey and Reron. Both families are doing well, both babies are perfectly healthy as always. We're doing really good with the colony children honestly!"

Both of these children were born via a kind of surrogacy. Well you see we use universal pregnancies mod because we just don't like having biological kids locked behind straight/opposite sex couples. So both of these kids were born via having an ovum extracted and fertilized via third party and then implanted back into the mother (or father, in Jiov's case). Cav helped with Reron and Maise (pictured, the dragon) helped with Fey (as if that wasn't obvious lol). If you're wondering about lore implications... I just operate on case by case basis, some folks are strictly male or female but a lot are dualsex, if someone is pregnant it's because they have a uterus, don't worry about it okay. It works for me. Rimworld.


 

"Oh boy, these two seem to be having kids constantly atm. We still have one more saplingchild in the ground waiting to emerge... Well luckily we have plenty of space! So this isn't really a problem. Either way I'm glad these two have been so dedicated... unlike some other partners, cough shivak, cough dear.... "

The saplingchildren are a very easy way to get overpopulated fast, I swear these two- But it's okay, I enjoy big families. It's cute. Still, having to deal with two saplingkids in the dead of a volcanic winter was stressful, we ended up making a little saplingchild growing area. The snide remark at the end though uh... look those two are troublemakers, Shivak cheated on and divorced his husband right after his baby was born and Dear broke up with his pregnant girlfriend after she asked to get married (Theres no legal anything with marriage it's just commitment! He just didn't like his pregnant girlfriend that much...).



"And to top it all off we had a blood rain, we had to move all the animals inside quickly so they wouldn't go berserk but we got everyone inside safely! Thank god we decided to enclose everything otherwise we'd be having some serious problems a lot of the time. Art by my lovely wife again, thank you wife!"

Oh yeah if you see art in here there's a high chance it was made by our wife VenusianSocket (She's on the forums, say hiiii). She's very helpful offering to do art for our updates, I'm very grateful. All else is drawn by me, like the last image. The anomalies that occur during gameplay are fine, but some are kind of boring and honestly I skip a lot of them (dev mode) because I'd rather just watch my ant simulator yknow... But for roleplay purposes I occasionally engage.

I'm going to now add CWs to the first post so be on the look out for thaaaat.
