First things first: Did the van have a license plate number? Can you remember it? If so, write that down ASAP. Even if we can't address it right this second, at some point we're going to need to go look for Violet.

Secondly: Supplies. Since you squished through the crack in the van's doors while having Violet's wallet and keys inside you, it's safe to assume that your gullet (for lack of a better term) is extradimensional in nature. This is a very good thing, because it means that not only can you carry a lot more than you normally would, but it will be difficult (if not impossible) for people to take things out of there without your permission.

Look for a weapon, a phone, a laptop, the handheld game console and whatever games are nearby, the associated chargers for all the electronics, pen and paper, whatever money you can find, some clothes, a rain jacket, the note from the door, and anything else that seems useful. A backpack might be helpful, but depending on your own carrying capacity, it might not be necessary. Don't bother trying to organize anything right now, just grab anything you can.

Finding someplace safe to go is going to be tough with your limited knowledge of the world, but the more important thing is to get some distance between yourself and Violet's apartment. Try to find a form that's close to what an average person looks like, and hide any shadowyness under baggy clothing if you can (this will also protect you from sunlight). Stick to public places with lots of people, somewhere that would be hard for someone to sneak up behind you and grab you without anyone else noticing.

As for transportation, your best bet is probably to find a large moving truck (or some other vehicle with a back compartment that's separate from the driver's seat), slip through the doors like you did with the van before, and hide there while you wait for it to drive wherever. If that's not an option for some reason, there's also public transportation, hitchhiking, or just plain walking.
