[STATIONARY_FRICTION] Has Started Stream "Darkest Night and Legends Investigation. Stories Welcome."

The camera is far too close to her face. She's rather awkwardly fiddling with it and her headset, before she realizes it has already started the broadcast for her. How odd.

"...Oh? Hello. I didn't think it would turn on with that...I suppose it at least has signal out here."

She backs off. It's a dark night. The sky is off. There's an oddly red sort of borealis and white stars in odd patterns. Strangely enough, tcp scale trees are in the distance, coniferous, but this is a clearing where she set up a campfire of twigs and bark, surrounded by pebbles. There's a makeshift sort of table, by a small tent a bit further. A tea set is placed on it...though the cup is empty. Aesthetic, likely. There's also a small book with a ribbon and a own nearby.

"Right. I headed here early...though it was far normal when I started my trek...to get my eyes on a subject of many interesting stories early...and well. The sights and odd...seeming shift and scale are already fascinating..."

The legend type points the camera more clearly at the sky, before turning it around to get footage of the trees beyond the clearing, and then returning it to standing, pointing towards her.

"Ironically, I've never been especially attached to legends, but...folk perspectives are an integral part of history and places...so, I figured...and was practically told, to try to round out the archives a bit..."

She grumbles...sighing heavily.

"Do you know how hard it is to get tcp size broadcast camera? While I'm glad to be able to get out and about for a bit...I had to find a specialty place to get this...luckily it wasn't too much and. Since I bought it on my own, I can at least reuse it for personal work too, but...it's honestly a bit odd. Not like the sort of stuff I'm familiar with, though it seems to work just fine and I'm sure I'll get the hang of what some of these dials and lights and meters do...the antennae are clearly quite effective..."

The camera is quite an odd one. It's a moderately sized video camera, with a couple little screens on a tab the flips out, a good few dials and meters with needles and lights and tubes and antennae sticking out of it. Bits of crystal and other bits and pieces and functional greebles are also present. It has a well loved design, that isn't quite the corporate style most would be familiar with.

"I almost think. I maybe should have omitted where I was going and what rumors I was looking to investigate and ask people about...it almost seems like...hm. Well, unless I seemed especially experienced I don't think they would have sold me that sort of equipment. It's probably just well made, stuff this size can be a bit odd sometimes, depending on how it was put together, after all. The headset compatability is quite nice too. I'll have to thank the friend of a friend who reccommended the place to me..."

She paces back and forth, before realizing she hasn't properly introduced the premise.

"...right, right. I suppose partly in honor of this place and the time of year and partly for a wonderful debut piece...I'd like to start with stories. Ghost stories, fairy tales, whatever you want to call them, feel free to discuss in the chat...or if you're a local or in the area...well. Then you can join the campfire if you find it, I suppose. I'll take a stroll around a bit later to get some other footage. Though honestly, I'm. A touch surprised I was able to get this far into the woods anyhow. Even if it were the right scale...it feels like I've gone much further than its size on the map..."

Happy Darkest Night, everyone! I'll probably clean this up to be clearer a bit later, but feel free to ask questions or comment if anythings unclear or you have thoughts or suggestions!

Have you ever accidentally became a paranormal investigator? Chire (STATIONARY_FRICTION) is about to. Chat with her about ghost stories and the like, and watch as she goes around the spooky scary woods. Or also be there. Seasonal fun!

Anyhow this is kind of a two part concept. First of all, in person and digital ghost stories and the like! Second...being in the spooky woods!

Here's how it'll work I think.
- Stream
It's just a chat. Slap a username down and add text after it. Attachments if you want. It might be a bit silly but a stream chat with attachments could be fun. Have fun with reading and writing little stories and rumors and the like, or seeing a new one play out.

- In person Campfire and Woods
So. I want to have an opportunity for some mischief here. Other than the opportunity for others to show up (Which, given the nature of the season, need not be intentional or likely.), I'll also be taking suggestions for things in the woods and other weird phenomenon here! It'll be fun, I think. Chire can experience some horror up close. It'd also be kind of funny if any visitors in person experience the woods at their scale. Which could have some funny experience of tcps and complexes being on the same footing, where they wouldn't normally.

This is pretty loose so, just. Have fun. Remember forum rules and all. Be nice etc etc. The IC thread will be up shortly and I'll cross link the two a bit later.

so some interest has been piqued (mainly by me (thresh) and pichi) for a critter-based RP with a sort of warrior cats feel, akin to what rin was originally going for with alias' intention for the "open species"...and pichi brought up the idea of making an AU timeline where critters are actually real, and exist in their own little world!

here's where we can discuss ideas for the roleplay, figure out a setting, etc. i'll probably add some discussion questions to this thread later, but it's almost 2 AM currently and i mostly just want to open up the floor to know what people want out of something like this, what would be cute/fun, what would allow for fun character dynamics and DRAMA etc

Now that the housekeeping is out of the way, let us begin. Spoilers are ahead.

The Maze Trials is a unique setting within Morbit, taking a distinctly experimental and dark tone at times that exemplifies the nature of Morbitian science.
Within the Maze Trials, newly spawned TCPs are subjected to various trials to shape the TCP towards a particular role or purpose.
This is exemplified by the Test Subject files. There are two roles for characters to have in Maze Trials. There are Overseers; researchers and scientists, and there are Subjects; TCPs who have been spawned and placed into the trials.

In this RP, you will have the opportunity to serve both roles.

OVERSEERS
Overseers will be designing each test chamber, defining the setting for the trial, and any puzzles, as well as a blacklist of things they wouldn't be comfortable writing about. They shall do so building off the prompt that the player behind the subject has provided.

SUBJECTS
Subjects will be providing the character, the prompt, and a blacklist of topics you don't want the character to possibly interact with. And then taking their provided text chamber and writing the story of their character experiencing it.

STEPS

First, the subject will provide their character, prompt, and blacklist to their Overseer.

The Overseer will then take that information and design a test chamber for the character to experience.

The Subject will then receive that test chamber and ideally write a small short story detailing their character's experience in that chamber and the conclusion.

Additionally, Overseers and Subjects are welcome to collaborate on the short story, if they so wish, but the writing power/final say remains in the Subjects' hands.

Then the Subject shall become the next Overseer, and select a new subject from the list of applicants.
Urban legend says that anyone can meet in an Eckermann's, regardless of their restaurant's physical location...they should be careful not to get lost, however!
"Weird storm...never seen anything like it." The bear shakes off the rain, happy to have found somewhere to take refuge, at least.
