In her defense, Jinx had every intention of being friendly and polite! Being 'dared' to do things just happens to be her weakness.  She primes one of her little robots with a tiny puff of smoke, setting it to scurry at her heel -- adjusts her practiced hand on her walking stick testingly, and makes a run for it. If all goes well, she'll grab Bawdry's golden glasses with her stick, get them into her hands, and get away from the scene of the crime as fast as she can. Her little helper's just for emergencies, able to set up a smoke-screen, cling to someone's arm, or explode. (Counting on her passive aura for certain sounds risky.) 

If this works, it's good she hadn't started up conversation yet! Heh.
