what's cooking?
#1
Discussion
unclear post title sorry i like the bit but! thinkin about food and cooking. i struggle a lot w having the energy to actually make food and what i can physically handle eating at any given time, but when i *can*, for whatever reason, being involved tends to make food easier 2 put up with and also more enjoyable! wwwwhich.. kind of sucks as a double bind, bc holy shit cooking takes forever and (varying complaints about prep with, lets go with, questionable fine motor control), but that appears to be pretty key to brain-body-WHATEVER accepting food. i'd like 2 have more than idk 5 diff meals i can cycle thru that i really enjoy tho, so! what do you guys like to cook if you can? i kno a lot of other ppl here are sick as well so. ideally things that aren't the *most* difficult to make or alternately things you just really enjoy, bc emotion appears to matter too. i'll just screenshot from the app i transfer all the recipes i use 2. (oh god i checked the preview and the images are HUGE, spoilers are my best friend)

rn i'm thinking about two of my faves, only one of which is. uh. actually easy to be fair. would not suggest attempting the ufos unless you have an excess of energy and/or help so i don't actually get these often, would recommend tho!

ez mode: chicken pastina / og recipe called it italian penicillin which is a way more fun name. no mold involved!/j

..take any 'takes this long' markers with a grain of salt, i sure do. this one's pretty fast, tho, and easy on the stomach. chicken broth w/ tiny pasta, olive oil, lemon juice, n parmesan. nice n warm!

second one's considerably more of a pain in the ass between kneading/mixing the dough and using boiling oil but i'm pretty sure it'd work with gnocchi if you wanted to make your life easier? i call em ufos but, chewy garlic potatoes!

prob'ly one of my favorite meals on the occasions i can get help to make it. they aren't too spicy but have a little kick, the sauce is soy sauce, garlic, sugar, and chili powder + green onions.
