A hour before noon, you and your new friend are to meet up with Despina and Diver today. A new project is to be proposed, one that the both of you will serve as frontrunners of in the effort to build networks beyond the leadership of the archival system. 

It made you a little nervous but... if you're being trusted with this kind of responsibility, that's some kind of progress. 

The door creeks open, Romero poking his head out with his hair a mess and stare a little unfocused. 

You doubt he slept all that much and you have a good hunch someone is to blame..

Savvy: Hey! Here to pick you up for today's meeting. You gonna be good for that?

Romero: Yeah.

Savvy: You sure? You don't look all that ready-

Romero: Can be in just a sec, hold on-

Roost: Who's at the door?

The entity had popped in, arms wrapped tightly around his waist affectionately.

Roost: Is that breakfast? Thought we decided we'd be going out-

He pauses to really get a good look at you.

Roost: Don't think we ordered shrimp.. 

Savvy: Shrimp's ordering you.

Roost: The death that I deserve.. make it quick. 

Romero: Don't think anyone's dying today. 

Savvy: Not as far as I know.

Roost: Disappointment. I didn't get much opportunity to talk yesterday, you belong to that rabbit? 

Savvy: Uh... no? I think she broke up with me actually... maybe?

Roost: You're wearing her brand so I don't know if she's truly that quick to be done with you.

Romero: Really? 

Roost: Mmhmm! Show me your hand. 

You give him a nod, holding it out for him to get a better look.

His weird sleeve fingers yank you down closer to his height.

Savvy: C-careful!

He seems to ignore you some what.

Roost: Mmm, she's proposed to you, maybe not in the way you'd like.. You didn't sign anything, did you? 

Savvy: No? I don't think so.

Roost: Can't pin down what kind of enchantment she's trying to pin on you but for something so small and without contract? Smells like a tracker.

Savvy: Really?

Roost: Mmhmm. You should hand it to me to hold onto, I get a bad sign from it?

Romero: Think we're in danger?

Roost: At least our fishy ally here is. Hand a potential client a trinket, make it easy for them to contact you in a pinch. Deals made stacked in her favor, she gets the lion's share in reward for doing you the minimum. Hook, line, sinker. 

Romero: ...You really could piece together that much?

Roost: Am I not of the same collar? 

Romero: Uh.... I guess? 

Roost: We're both merchants of destruction, that rabbit is not remotely normal about either on a glance. 

Romero: Yeah ... she tried to sign me up, got pretty steamed that I was already locked in with a bigger entity. Apologized to her, asked me out and then walked cause I was "too nice to hate fuck."

Roost: She saw great potential in you... but I don't think she'd be responsible with a Ferryman like you. Bringer of the end does not need a enabler. 

Savvy: Bringer of the end? You? 

Romero: Allegedly, yeah. 

Savvy: I mean... I guess anyone can in the right place and time but you don't like... I dunno. Feels wrong to call you anything like that. 

Romero: That a good thing..?

Savvy: I think so, you're chill and usually folks like that are so... tense. Tired.

Roost: Too nice for that life I think, and his entity prevents me from ruining him.

Savvy: Yeah, like it doesn't fit I guess. 

Roost: It could but not anytime soon I'd gather. For now though my little ceviche, I'd be careful. Your past is a blank slate and you're prime material to take advantage of. Despina's scary though so that might be your grace. Rabbit has to work for you.

Romero: You think she's got something funny in mind? Like anytime soon at least?

Roost: Maybe. If I were her I'd at least see if I could upgrade to a taller vessel. 

Romero: She gets insecure about the whole being short thing... offered to rent me out but then I asked what I was supposed to do and she didn't really have a answer. 

Savvy: Guess I'm a good bit taller than most, yeah.

Roost: Mmhmm! I do think you'd be best handing me that little precious, ring like that will only lead to bad things.

You ponder for a moment. 

Roost: THis seems like a difficult choice for you, have me worried right now

Savvy: Do you have to actually wear it? 

Roost: Mm? 

Savvy: Like if you're close by..

Roost: In theory no but-

Savvy: In that case, I'm thinking you're just coming with me today. 

Roost: I' be close to you, still within temptation's reach. Plus you've gotta be a fool for trusting me so quickly-

Romero grabs the donkey by the air, getting a yelp out of him.

Roost: You will not silence me without a fight-!

Romero: Relax, I got an idea.

The ferryman leaned up close, whispering directly into his ear until his mouth curled into a mischievous smile. 

Roost: I see the vision, and you can really promise that much-?

Romero: Just play it cool for now and yeah. 

Roost: You drive a hard bargain... I expect nothing less than real satin though. Good materials that show off the bod.  

Romero: Easy. 

The donkey holds out his arms to you. 

Roost: Take me away, imitation crab. 

Savvy: Imitation...

Romero: Just carry him for now, should keep your signal down.

Savvy: This isn't a setup to a sex thing, right?

Romero: Nah, I got that part covered. 

Roost: My Ferryman... 

Savvy: Really need to confirm that before we go...

Romero: Just carry him for now, jam your signal and we can present it to folks at the meeting. Sure Despina's at least accounted since they saw ya'll claiming. it. Santana couldn't take two higher ups like that, you know? 

Roost: Nor a entity like myself for that matter...

Savvy: Trick up the sleeve?

Roost: Many. Let's get going and you should see for yourself soon enough.
