[DISCUSSION] TCP Sexuality Thread - skinstealer - 01-25-2024
hohkay i did not expect to be making this thread but here we are: a thread to discuss the TCP sexuality stuff we've been working on for the past while or so- more publicly anyhow, and not just cordoned to discord. it could be fun to talk things over with people, demystify the concept a bit after having it be cold turkey "don't fucking touch this" for so long, and talk about canon characters and ideas for different typings.
what we will be doing in this thread
- discussing TCP sexuality/kink stuff
- discussing canon characters
- discussing fan characters if people want to volunteer stuff and ask for discussion on that, i'm open to it
- asking each other questions about things to help develop our characters and yours- please make sure to specify if you're not personally open to people asking/commenting on stuff when posting. otherwise, i'm going to say it's fair game, and we'll do the same in our own posts.
- posting goofy doodles (that follow the rules)
- allowing people to ask for common cultural trends regarding sexuality for different types- these will not be universal truths, and more just ideas that come to mind for us. these may also be very fucking weird and have unspoilered kink talk, even in the cases of horror, gore, and vore/cannibalism stuff. due to TCPs being very atypical in their culture compared to complexes, especially food and body types, i'm gonna say that spoiler necessities are only applicable to what you personally feel like needs to be spoilered, and is only 100% mandatory for discussing stuff that would be banned in pornographic contexts but allowed in character backstories- ie, talking about stuff like sexual assault. i dont want to limit people (including ourselves) from talking about those kinds of backstories/situations and how they tie into a character's sexuality, but please don't make the backstory itself a kink thing, etc.
- being open to new things and not going "ewww, gross." you don't have to be into it, but keep any negativity to yourself.
- having a fun time and playing around with ideas together

ok here with some unstructured rambling to start. i've been thinking a lot about raggedy- one of my TCP pseudo-sonas who is also known as the friendzoo guy. i've always kind of pictured him toying with stuff but not really knowing where to start with him... his personality is fairly defined at this point, but it feels a little flat at the same time. i know i have a lot of emotions channeled into him, but they feel hard to express beyond excitement for virtual pets that can sometimes go too far, consequence wise (see: friendzoo).
"rin, you could just make him into petplay"- too easy. i think especially after making friendzoo, the concept is a bit weird for him to get into...he'd have a lot of complex feelings about that kind of thing, and would probably avoid it. all the same, i can imagine him getting into virtual worlds like something second life adjacent (or this one sims-like game we're working on in a future felid factor storyline...it would be really funny if he was into like, horny game modding, tbh). his problem however is his ability anomaly's tendency to make shit haunted as soon as he gets his hands on it, leading his game characters and files to behave in a creepypasta-like fashion. it's interesting to wonder whether he'd be into that element as well...i imagine when the anomaly first started acting up, it made him very scared- kind of like the feeling of having a toy lose battery and malfunction for the first time, where there's a sense of something being wrong.
as he grew more adjusted and mature, he realized he related more to the concept of being a haunted toy, even if he isn't really a toy himself, type wise. his toys became friends to him, possibly in a sort of "object sentience" sort of way...and this being ultimately realized, with friendzoo. he doesn't feel any kind of sexual or kink feelings towards rasters for obvious reasons- they are just little animal people in his computer- but sometimes he wishes he could be sucked into a digital and wander around like they can. i could see him saving up a lot of money for a VR rig or a holo-screen in order to feel things better, and maybe exploring things via that as well.
him being a horny roleplayer would make sense, but probably doesn't divulge he's a TCP often outside of designated spaces for it. it's too personal, and he's afraid of people's expectations conflicting with who he is. this probably can get a bit maladaptive sometimes, especially seeing as raggedy is prone to computer overuse and fixating on digital spaces for multiple days at a time with zero rest. he doesn't leave the house practically at all, and while that's not bad in and of itself, his reasons for doing so are ones he doesn't know how to work on, and deeply immersing himself in these spaces and exploring things is how he copes, for better or for worse.
partner-wise, he doesn't have a whole lot going on. it'd be nice to figure out some of his horny roleplaying buddies, maybe? or at the very least, characters he likes to inhabit. seeing as the sims-like game we're working on has multiplayer server functions, that'd probably be the best outlet for it. unhinged brain says throw a bit of SS13 server potential and furcadia dreams into it. we have never played SS13.

very possibly...it would be very funny if one of his plushes came to life because of his ability and started tormenting him. moving his stuff around and pushing things over and making a mess of things, only for the two of them to bond. it's hard to decide whether it'd be a "life size" or bigger plush meant for complexes (TCPs that are also toy fans have the fucking jackpot when it comes to being able to buy a plush that takes up your entire house), or a super miniature TCP-made one. but i do like this idea...it'd be hard for him to explain to other people, but i think he'd take his partner(?) out for adventures if he ever does leave the house. a rare occasion, but maybe having a little guy to help does wonders.

there are absolutely people like that. i mean, i could imagine some TCPs offering those services for a myriad of reasons- ability-based service work is the biggest avenue for TCP careers, after all. the main issue is that for a TCP to turn a complex into something, they either need an ability amplifier (a thing i am making up right now- they are very expensive, experimental, and tiring to use), a TCP that can have a similar effect to an amplifier (amplification type? ability type? ????), an ability anomaly, or some source of constant health flow wait this is just TCP feeding tubes okay. i'm not even into those and here they are through the power of worldbuilding. enjoy
my point is it'd be a very difficult endeavor for a TCP to fully TF a complex-scale person but it IS possible. TFing another TCP is a lot more doable, but would still sap a TCP's health pretty bad. this stuff is dangerous! unless you have a feeding tube i guess. god.

I feel like tcp are more likely to be understanding of it, considering the species as a whole has a lot going on. Having a plush partner is probably not the strangest thing but people probably wouldn't get the whole haunted part more so.
Do you think the type itself has an tendencies towards kinks? Kinda wonder if like
playfully they want partners who don't mind getting scared a bit

he would definitely need a partner who's cool with spooky bullshit. it happens around him constantly- mostly to his toys and games, but in general as well. sometimes your mirror just starts bleeding around him. the radio gets all fucky. you hear footsteps at night that aren't from anything. it's a nightmare for a lot of people, but for him, it's just his reality. most abstract types get to have complete control of their abilities, but raggedy's acts more along the lines of a ghost type, just with a campy horror aspect. i think that as for Active Interest goes, it really depends on the individual- like i said, most horror (genre) types wouldnt have the issue of things just, haunting around them, but i think itd go a long way for a partner to just...Be Okay With Active Ability Use if not embracing the aspect of "yeah stuff's gonna be spooky sometimes!"
yeah bloodplay would be big. i think raggedy would be pretty autistic about substances, so bloodplay would be fun. i don't think he'd be into pain much, though, so it'd be a lot of waiting around to see if something starts bleeding randomly in his house. it'd probably be fake blood, so fairly easy to mop up and store if it's not on a porous surface.

All of this is kind of reminding me I had a TCP idea rattling around my brain that has like, an ability nullification aura. It's proximity- and time-based - so for example, a creature type's "aura" (if they have an aura-ish ability) wouldn't be fully negated because it's impossible for a creature type to be close enough, and the aura is an "always there" thing. But they could revert one-time changes of things around them, for example, or shorten the duration of an abstract type's ascension, et cetera. Anything directly attached to their body would be reverted fastest. Something I completely didnt think about though is that this nullification process is very gradual. Detransformation. I guess.
The main reason I didn't execute this as a character concept yet is because I wasn't sure if I wanted it to be a character or some kind of typing that is capable of doing this. And also the idea of a TCP being able to do this is kinda [shakes hand from side to side uncertainly] to me, it means they're not playing by The Rules of TCPs, and I feel like a large part of the point of TCPs is about different TCPs having quirks that need to be worked around. (Not that it's a bad idea by any means, but for my creative needs, it might be a bit boring)
After all these years we discover the infinite TCP ability trick and it's a fucking feeding tube. We've truly opened the floodgates

permanent TCP nullification IS a thing that can happen and is a magically induced process, so i don't think it'd be too out of line to have a TCP that can do this. i haven't really thought about whether partial nullification is a thing- probably to some degree? it can be a really intensive process so i imagine it may be similar to what you're talking about where it goes away over time...and you could just, Stop doing it and have some effects come back and some persist, kind of similar to what i've heard about taking HRT (i am not on it myself currently), which is kind of funny. i imagine some TCPs do have ability dysphoria though, so it does make a lot of sense.
if you're looking to make a puzzle out of it, i would say veer away from just "a type that can do this" and maybe work on a character that's studied nullification techniques and has made advancements either on or off the record. i think there could be a lot of intrigue there and potential for like, some kind of cool doctor or researcher or even just a mad scientist of sorts. obviously go with whatever but that's the kind of ideas that come to mind

TCP dating is a fucking nightmare. i cant imagine casual hookups are much better, especially if it's a mystery date sort of situation where TCP types might not be exchanged in advance. that would probably be a gameshow honestly, note to self. creature types especially have it bad, and there's probably a lot of instances where a relationship involving multiple creature types get REAL rough and/or weird.
hmm...other stuff.
i've been waffling on corruption a bit, but in the sense of the person still retaining most of their sense of self. he doesn't really like a lot of art/porn/etc of that kind of thing because it focuses a lot on identity death, and that spooks him more than a little. he more likes the idea of someone becoming more...well, i've mentioned the creepypasta thing, kind of like that. someone becoming Edgier and Spookier and knowing he had a hand in that. probably part of how he gets into the idea of a relationship with the plush he ends up haunting.

discord rambling elaborated a bit on that sims-like game i mentioned so here are our notes about it and some new stuff i came up with during the course of this thread so far.
PLAYMATES is a simulation game with both singleplayer and multiplayer capabilities, and is heavily based off of what we've seen of multiplayer sims mods. in the base game, players can form a server based on a household of anthropomorphic objects (typically toys), generally deviating from real-world construct types and veering more into the fantastical. the game itself is easy to mod even on top of the wide variety of in-game character customization, and many people trick out their characters with fashion, body mods, and heavy amounts of theming. these characters function as sim-like beings in the base game, but many people run roleplay servers with varying degrees of using the text chat for in-character dialogue- with players either doing their best to get their character actions to line up with that (they do have some degree of free will by default, and their own emotions), or doing actions first and figuring out the roleplay on the fly from the results.
like sims, this game has an expansion pack system, many including different kinds of server types such as dance clubs, schools, etc. the objects don't have life cycles so much as skill growth that grows more in-depth with time, and it's theorized that the head dev is a TCP basing a lot of the mechanics on their own species- leading to a huge TCP playerbase in the process. only the server owner needs to have the expansion pack to host a special locale, but players joining will have to have the packs to use other, clientside features that might enhance that locale's experiences.
horny modded playmates is often referred to as SOULMATES, which i think is suitably cheesy and gives it more of an adult feel. this adds sexuality mechanics similar to those experienced by TCPs, likely added by TCP players in the first place- or similarly ace spectrum folks. characters can get horny whims and develop kinks, and often grow depressed if they can't act them out. i'd imagine there's a huge range of stuff people can get, and the mod has varying levels of autonomy for kink development. some people would probably be fine seeing their characters get whatever the psychological system has in mind for them, while others flick on the setting that lets them pick from a list. there may even be an f-list style system where people can toggle what stuff they want in their game or not, which helps with matchmaking in private servers as well. as is the case with many horny modded games there are also five billion animations of various janky qualities, with the actual level of effort put in being based on how much people on the dev team actually give a shit about the interest in question.
raggedy probably plays with a robot, computer, or virtual pet guy. while he absolutely adores plushes, he sees himself in his haunted toys, and would want to express that through a familiar medium. a haunted computer furry might be really cute, actually...let's go with that. his character has semi-autonomy on and developed a weird robot gore thing due to his ability's influence, which he's not sure how to feel about. he doesn't like seeing his guy get hurt in bad situations, but does feel a little bit of relief whenever his character expresses comfort and relief with having his wires and buttons get played with. there's probably a good bit of glitch horror involved, which spooks a lot of potential partners in casual sex club servers (think SL or furcadia), but he's found a few friends who like playing both sexually and story-wise.

thinking more about discussion from last night. i still cant decide on the size of raggedy's plush friend/potential partner but the idea of them being bigger than raggedy would be really fucking funny so i think i'm leaning towards that. since they'd be more than capable of using TCP furniture and goods (thinking 8 inch beanie baby bear size/proportions) raggedy might encourage them to strike out on their own instead of just remaining in his house- he doesn't want there to be a weird power dynamic and would honestly beat himself up a bit for catching feelings for his "creation", even if his ability wasn't under his control at the time. they might even take him up on this offer, only to return home after a while- saying that they missed him even after getting new perspectives. from there their relationship starts to blossom a bit, and rags is forced to confront his feelings when his plush roommate asks him if they can get a computer to play Soulmates with him............................the drama
this also means that the plush guy probably goes out to get the two of them groceries and such, encouraging raggedy to come along sometimes for health's sake. if anyone asks what typing the plush is, the two of them just say it's a secret.

Thought I'd dump some thoughts I've had
Tcp Kink/Sexuality thoughts
- Wolf/Dog types often are poly. Usually very attuned with who is dating who in a pack
- Cat types would probably be into somnophilia in a way (on the receiving end). Having someone pamper and carry them around while they sleep, waking up somewhere new and knowing your partner was delicate enough for you to not wake up
- Battle types would want partners who could at least give them some sort of a challenge in a fight + I imagine a lot of them are into enemy romances
- Tooth types are probably into bite play, but have to be mindful of who they choose in a partner/as a hook up.
- possession type shenanigans with a possessed partner. Have to be very clear about what they're allowed to do/be in control of.
--Reverse is some may like subspace for the change up
- Mentioned this... somewhere before, blanket types and smiliar cats like being kneaded
- Slime types could let their partners knead them and maybe even like... sink into them? Not sure how safe it is
- Twinkle light/fairy light types could be into bdsm and tying up their partners with light strings
- Nature types I feel like would make their partners the plant/object they are and give it to them, have to be pretty serious
- Hydra type can give their partners multiple kisses. That's the whole thought
- Crows foot, maybe some other skin like types, consider sharing skin care time with a serious partner to be a big step. Make them very vulnerable

oooh good thoughts. let me break down my further observations here
wolf/dog types involving pack dynamics would be interesting, especially considering stuff like "alpha dog/wolf" is very outdated and wouldn't be applicable- people would have to determine their own dynamics outside of that dichtomy, and that could be neat to mess with even outside of a power dynamic standpoint. what kind of roles does a person take to make the pack functional? does someone handle cooking, cleaning, etc? does someone help keep monetary stuff in order? all of these things can also lead to what's called "service" in BDSM circles if people want to involve that in the relationship- i've read some really good stuff about this in relation to disability in a book titled "kneeling in spirit", which i highly recommend if you're cool with reading about graphic sex/kink stuff and want to know how a lot of older people in the community handle long term/lifestyle relationships. it's also like five bucks as an ebook. it's good.
cat types and somno stuff...interesting, i do like it. somno is something you have to be really careful with because it can lean into dubious consent if you're not careful and have established terms and conditions for it, as well as failsafes- but i am interested in how it can be explored, and i think the examples you've given are pretty safe. being cuddled or pampered while sleeping is a really good exploration of that, and leans in well to the cat-ness on display. still, it'd be good for those characters to negotiate it pretty heavily in advance- trusting someone with your safety and wellbeing while you sleep is a very big deal.
battle types would definitely benefit from a rival-like stance, though i imagine some that are less leaning into tropes for their typing would want someone who can comfort them when they cool down from those periods of being riled up and fighty. it would be just as common for someone to want a more medic-like feel, even leaning into medical play at times. i think there's a lot of potential here.
tooth types are pretty straightforward in what would be enjoyed there, yeah- but i imagine there could also be an angle of dental care? being serviced through cleaning is a pretty standout BDSM kink and i think TCPs with oral fixations would have it pretty rough outside of seeking partners like this that have mouths- seeing as most don't. i can imagine some being drawn to it though, or even having phantom sensations...something to bond over with a tooth or similar type TCP, i guess. these partners likely have very big opinions on toothpaste and types of bristle.
possession types are fun and tap into a lot about what i like about mental fuckery. like you said though, it'd require a lot of pre-negotiated and active consent, because that's a lot of trust involved. i could honestly see a possession type and their partner(s) getting advice from plural systems that have active relationship dynamics or otherwise, seeing as losing front can often be a similarly jarring situation. it would be cool to see possession types write about these kinds of things, i think.
blanket types being kneaded is soooo cute, i love it. it would be very nice for them, and you could vary how much sensation it gives them based on whether it's solely on the blanket covering, or goes deep enough to reach the main body underneath. blanket types can still feel sensation on the blankets themselves, but i imagine the body underneath the surface is much more sensitive and intimate to the touch, considering it's covered up most of the time. especially provocative blanket types likely style their blankets to reveal more of that body underneath, whether it's the blanket being lifted up in some way, cut short, or cut holes into it. i imagine those who do that likely have patches and detachable addons, though- for modesty when needed. maybe some zippers? interesting.
slime and other permeable types can definitely hold their partners within their bodies, including stuff like ocean types etc. it does take a significant amount of pressure and to some degree consent to allow this to happen, and i can imagine due to risk of waterlogging it's a pretty trust-heavy and extreme kink to engage with. still, some TCPs that enjoy immobilization or being surrounded in things, such as soft vore or encasement, would be pretty happy with this.
twinkle/fairy light type bondage would be SO UNCOMFORTABLE for most TCPs but some people are very into that. TCPs with thick or malleable surfaces would do best with that, to avoid piercing or other injury. it would definitely have a lot of flair though, especially if the light type in question turns the lights on (which i imagine they can do at will). makes you wonder if this stuff is sold in stores for this purpose- lights that never go out.
yeah no nature type gifts are a big deal, especially if customized in some way. thinking about those trees grown to fit molds, or something. it'd be a lot safer to do that to a purposefully-crafted nature type product than a "normal" plant, i imagine, seeing as...i don't know how to explain it, but it wouldn't endanger the health of the plant too much. another interesting TCP type product?
hydra type kisses are important. i think hydra types are also very interesting due to their inherent multiplicity/plurality- it'd make navigating relationships interesting, especially with the fact that all of the heads are technically cofronting whenever theyre awake. that said- i feel like heads can sleep at different times.
i am really glad crow's foot is getting some love here! it's a really underappreciated type. i think that celebrating wrinkles as an attractive thing would be super awesome to see, perhaps even a lover trusting the crow's foot type to give them some as a mark of commitment. TCPs with wrinkles like that would be super rare, so it'd be a very noticeable mark of trust and devotion.

oh here's something interesting as an addendum re: somnophilia. TCPs do not Need to sleep, it is an active choice for them to rest in that way- they can just as easily remain conscious, so long as they get less movement in and destress a bit. sleep is something a lot of them are socialized to do while in complex society, but it isn't necessary for getting rest in. this means that indulging in the act of sleep as a purposeful choice both has more potentials for consent involved and is more of a deliberate act for TCPs to engage with, which is nice.

I have a lot of thoughts about irl wolf packs to tcp dog pack dynamics but That Isn't A Topic For Now, thank you of course for knowing that Alpha/beta/omega is bs. Do like to imagine that certain cats might be handling certain roles, or maybe they have some sort of a chore wheel. Maybe packs in general tend to lean towards casual romantic relationships, with only a couple getting into more specific kinks. Is casual bdsm a thing? Would be for tcp. Would be cute for like, more "wild" dog type to go on a date with a "city" dog and them to figure out their personal dynamic.
Should look more into "service" for bdsm. Think it's something Food types would be into? Also good to know about the book, dont have a thought besides that but is good to know about. Might look into it.
I am happy with the addendum, because I do know they don't have to sleep, but cats in real life sleep longer around people they trust, so I figured that might carry over a bit. Have to set very clear boundaries before getting too touchy, but I think it could be a good thing for cats to explore. Could even have a sleeping cat type with a blanket partner, or a sleeping bag carrying them around... just some cute stuff.
Ohhh I really like that. Someone they can go back to to calm down with, cuddle. Maybe both, have a partner to be there to help you/train with you (probably semi casual, My Bro sort of deal), have a partner to calm down with and heal your wounds (bit more serious). Think they'd probably get overlooked a bit so just like thinking about em.

I think a few cats that might also have some sort of oral fixation might be like, food types, creature types based on carnivores (tigers, wolves, bears), and monsters. Maybe other body types? Some sort of mutual understanding between each other, and a longing for things missing?
Possession types and their partners asking for help from plurals is such an interesting concept. I really like that; it would be very cool to see. Might keep that as a one-shot idea? idk, don't wanna make you if you're unwilling since it's a bit specific.
Obviously love the cuddly blanket thoughts, but kinda love the idea of a blanket type fixing it so it's like a slit cut dress and they can poke their leg out. casual BDSM is absolutely a thing. there's a wide range of how people handle those types of relationships, and while we're not experts, we do know a lot about the variety that can be there and it'd be fun to talk about.
i think session TCPs would also benefit from having someone around who understands the strain that combat can do on the mind and body, especially since some session TCPs (thinking Bloodthirsty from today's felid factor update today, tbh) might have developed some kind of maladaptive interests that need time and work to process. in thirsty's case, ransom can picture her being into vampiric feeding as a kink thing, but while her attitude is fairly nonchalant towards her history as a Session Murder Cat™, she has some serious wires crossed and both craves the company of someone who will indulge those interests as someone to feed on, and feeling sick over having them in the first place.

oh yeah thirsty absolutely reads vampire stories. she's fucking obsessed with learning about the cultural implications behind a condition that was inflicted upon her by her player, and wondering what their motivations were for doing That instead of any other murder thing. she doesn't really have a lot of friends, let alone partners, and doesn't really allow herself to, but has a lot of conflicted feelings about how some of the TCPs she was made to kill were people she really did like and may have even crushed on a bit before it all went to hell. i think she thinks about it a lot but goes "ahhh i'm so gross. whatever" and doesn't really stop herself so much as use it as an excuse to treat herself badly.
i think she'd find morbit twilight pretty cringe. but old style dracula might be more her thing, thinking fiend stories and the like.
oh yeah void session stuff is fine. let's see
primus is...hmmm. primus. i think everyone views him as The Goodest Boy To Ever Good and that doesn't really line up with where he is mentally after void session. he still wants to strive to be the best person he can be and make those above him proud, but i feel like after a point he has issues with that mentality in relationships, and it can make people uncomfortable sometimes. bryce really likes primus and the feeling is mutual, but bryce really doesn't like being put on a pedestal, and the two have basically agreed not to indulge in anything until primus gets some more therapy and techniques to deal with how easily he idolizes others. he is definitely in a casual relationship with lover and the two of them have messed with sex/kink stuff, but primus once again ends up slotting himself into that "i have to serve others that i care about" role in ways that do not mesh well with lover's domineering nature that can get a bit out of control sometimes. nothing abusive or anything, but it gets pretty unhealthy at times and the two are locked in a cycle of breaking up and getting back together. all in all: primus doesn't have a lot going on sometimes but he probably is still exploring interests.
buddy has a plush thing and it's all the audience's fault. i'm half joking but i feel like buddy developed some pretty strong attachments to acts of play and imagination-based activities that stuck with it pretty hard as it matured during the session and outside of it. i've actually toyed (haha) with the idea that buddy gets a plush modifier down the line but haven't committed to it yet- it's a big species dysphoria thing for it at this point and it really likes roleplaying with hark with that kind of thing, even if hark kind of feels like she's bad at it and way less imaginative. maybe the two of them could play playmates/soulmates? it would be pretty funny if raggedy and buddy were friends on there, though i can't see them hooking up. more...double date situations. buddy also likes drawing and writing in these departments.
kevin (post void session dad for the uninitiated) is pretty vanilla, but marnet wants to dabble in all kinds of stuff. i can imagine marnet realizing how much she loves kevin's cooking and begging kevin to give that a try in intimate matters, which kevin thinks is a little silly at first, but realizes how happy it makes her and gets into it by proxy. i can say with certainty that kevin does NOT like her size being poked fun at or teased, so that wouldn't be involved at all with anything. she does like marnet's super big hugs, though.
no idea what jasper's up to. always kind of pictured them as fully aroace, if not outright repulsed by these things. stuff like gore kink etc definitely triggers them Bad, and they have to avoid it.

I am very sad for Primus, but I think it's a fitting "kink/mindset" for him just... based on the story so far. Its also probably hard to see as an issue? Like online sources might lead to people saying/him thinking "I just love my partners, that's not bad" and not realizing how that can be on the receiving end. Also do like that Bryce is not trying to force himself to deal with Primus's stuff, being supportive without making yourself uncomfortable is good. And I do appreciate that lover isn't like, magically the perfect opposite, or even abusive. Relationships can just... not be good without either party being The Worst. Happy Primus is exploring, even though he needs help. Hopefully he can get the serious help he needs.

that's all i want to say without potentially spoiling stuff considering she is probably going to be the focus on that pet shelter part 2 oneshot...how much beyond that would be shown in a story is up to whether people want to fund her adventures, i guess!
chem doesn't exactly see itself as a Good Person and would rather people not be around it in general. it's fine knowing people in a professional capacity, especially in this kind of volunteer work bringing it a sense of penance, but it has very big self worth issues even if theyre wrapped in a sort of devil-may-care attitude about it. we're not actually sure what chem DID to get to the point where it doesn't see itself as a person worth caring about beyond what it can do professionally, but it doesn't have too many ties and prefers to keep it that way. digital hookups, possibly on multiple accounts/characters so it can ghost as needed, are its preference.
vollus' most recent divorce was a long time ago. i can definitely see signing up with the shelter being a way for him to fill time that would otherwise be spent moping, but he likes to keep himself busy and his thoughts away from any dangerous pitfalls.

yeah they absolutely have horny websites and media. it was something i've thought about for a long time before making this stuff canon but always felt like "oh people would find it gross" but fuck it it's real now. people in-universe probably have mixed feelings on it depending on how their local area and culture treats TCPs but they are around and varying degrees of accessible based on location. they probably vary in what's allowed by publishing companies and shops to sell in- some things would probably be seen as Too Far for like, a convenience store magazine rack, etc, but online is often a wild west. i imagine those standards are really varied though and less cut and dry than stuff IRL, where you cant show intercourse in a lot of more mainstream pinup mags and certain kinks even on online services like onlyfans. they'd have different cultural standards to it all, which i'd like to figure out sometime. for the sake of things in this thread though, we'll keep topics on the rails- as the opening post says, even if stuff on the banned list would potentially exist in-universe, i don't wanna engage with discussion about it.
onlyfans type deal as well as camsites would be pretty popular, yeah. there's an interesting sort of thing around anonymity with TCPs...they're the dominant population on morbit due to the way they reproduce via thought, and basic, single type TCPs are just palette swaps. in that sense, having one knife type differing from another online is no big deal, and you'd be able to blend in with a crowd pretty effectively, especially if there were multiple members of your typing. but that's the thing- types are so varied, and more obscure (and thus less spawned) typings would have less anonymity online than something like a cat type or a tree. and then you get into TCPs with modifiers, conditions, anomalies, designer markings- depending on how significant they are, that makes them extremely identifiable, especially if their work is widespread. IRL it's recommended for pornstars to either not have tattoos or cover them up so they can resume daily life easier without being recognized- what happens when your entire look is identifiable on sight, even moreso if you're banking on that for appeal? i'd say that any sex work for a TCP, especially a more visually unique one, is often something you have to be willing to commit to hard as a main gig in that sense. people who do want to do this privately do exist, though, and i can actually imagine costuming and disguise work to be a really common part of producing kink media for a TCP audience.
(i showed rime this part a bit early and they reminded me this goes for morbitians as a whole- it's food for thought! i can see it being especially prominent for smaller construct species or "one off" constructs, scrap ghosts, fiends, etc. when your world is sparklefurries you become VERY identifiable.)
it would be funny to figure out what kind of niches different typings would try to fill in these spaces, though- and which ones subvert those typings! so much to chew on. for example, a knife type doing very gentle care- there would be a sensation of risk if the blades were uncovered, but if the model/worker was careful enough, that risk would be comforted by the feeling of "they would never hurt me", and i feel like there's something interesting to that. really, it's all character based!
onto the type thoughts...
sound types are absolutely often into audio play- it'd be a natural niche for their typing, considering they have such intricate control of sound in question. i would say it goes beyond playlists and into stuff like ASMR, audio roleplay, phone/voice calls, the works. a sound type could change their voice, i'd imagine, and that could get pretty fun too. one man cast for something like a hypno subliminal or an audio roleplay, perhaps? in general, i do feel like TCPs would lean into stuff like ASMR and sensory videos in general, considering that sort of stimulation is more akin to how they feel sexuality/sensuality in general.
toenail types getting some love makes me happy. you know the nail art/care scene there goes crazy. i imagine that they're also rather sensitive because, well, toes. good for snuggling and such!
wing types having bird-like interests is a neat concept, i do like that. preening for sure, that'd be a necessary care thing- and i could see them using their feathers as nesting material or just a way to make things comfier. i can also see situations where both them and other TCPs that can fly (no matter how illogical it may seem, yes i am talking about stuff like bumblebee where they have tiny ass wings) would do dance-like courtship displays.
i love the idea of shaking a snowglobe type as a form of roughhousing play- while also being careful not to break the dome itself. in general, being a fragile TCP would be an interesting experience that i can honestly give a lot of (objective) personal thoughts on as someone with a very delicate Body Situation- for another time, probably. but for snowglobe types? absolutely could see a subspace thing.
similar type partnerships...it's interesting, and something i want to elaborate on with Haven as a setting for sure. i think it's expected that TCPs with at the very least similar typings would get together for compatibility reasons, whether that's in a relationship, friendship, and just generalized living situations. that camaraderie can be very important, especially when certain typings are so far and few between spread-wise, but sometimes, especially in the cases of multiplicative creature type auras, it can get messy! stuff like what you mentioned with hawk types is absolutely a good example for why a TCP would pick a similar type partner, however- some things feel more natural that way, like courtship displays. however! i think it's a fun challenge to figure out how radically different types can fill those niches with each other, too.
bonus because i was thinking about it earlier: current Soulmates Character Roster (no names for the characters im figuring that out when they come to us)
Raggedy: anthro 90's style computer, or maybe some kind of iMac situation if i wanted to go for style points? creepy theme, glitches out regularly. has a zombie-like walk cycle.
Raggedy's Partner Who Needs A Name: a cartoony plush angel (yes, the morbitian ones) with a fake blood-dripping grin, bigger than raggedy's character. loves to use a mod command that lets them pick up raggedy's character and carry them around, second life RLV style (basically scripts that let you control another person's avatar, primarily used for BDSM)
Buddy: a soft bee-themed plush with a fat build and a prosthetic leg mod. it likes to see itself in the avatar, and got its primary inspiration from susie, its bee type plush from void session. character may even be named "susan", or "lazy susan", or something.
Hark: scissor-themed anthro, has blade legs and claws. not actually able to harm anyone in game outside of deliberate fight interactions, but she puts socks on the blades anyway for realism's sake. buddy thinks this character is really cute.
Chem: potted plant anthro wearing punk, BDSM-style clothing. often gives its character a riding crop to carry around, and a threatening walk cycle.

Makes sense that different zones have different feelings on it, imagine Hearth is probably the easiest place for tcps to find stuff. Couldn't imagine something in Solitude. I feel like there's probably sites for specific categories of types, like some something called "The Bakery" that specializes in food type tcps, or maybe some with the tasty modifier, or "Blacksmiths Lair" that's partly about helping Weapon types feel sexy.
Thinking about models/workers specifically now, I think type would effect how willing you are to be recognizable online. Like you said, hundreds of cats types so it's probably easier to blend in + might be better to blend in, but something like a tooth type might like standing out and building an audience, and are you really gonna fuck with a tooth type? Tooth type might have too many.... cannibalism type, you wouldn't fuck with them probably. They could be more standoutish.
Also feel like a fun market here would be a cat who helps other cats take pictures for their partners like this (or themselves). Build a brand on helping other cats feel more comfortable and learn to pose or explore things.

Same still goes for morbitians in general, hi morbitians in general Okay talking about the subversion thing just reminds me that that's also a thing in asmr. I use asmr to sleep so don't think about it horny a lot (really avoid the blatantly horny ones so ah), but tcp would be so good for it. In love with the idea flight related tcps do little courtship dances. That's so cute and makes a lot of sense. Think like, it probably is easier between other flight cats to understand it, bit finding a partner who is also willing is very important. Especially like, dancing is such a small thing, it's probably one of the easiest things your partner could ask to do with you.
Snowglobe types and potion types, sometimes you maybe just wanna be shaken up a little. I think part of the thrill *is* that you have to be careful pretty much all the time, being able to trust your partner to be rough with you would probably take a lot.
I wanna figure out some common type pairings at some point, but maybe not now. That could be a Whole post though, including the unpredictable match ups.
Love the characters oooh. Do think it's neat that there's scripts that let you control another character, and I like the Lazy Susan as a name for Buddy's character.

oh yeah solitude is largely sex-negative. it's bad out there. hearth and precipice are probably your best places for sex-positive stuff in general...though hoopla is a mixed bag. there's a pretty big sex work scene but depending on where you are it could have a lot of exploitation involved considering how deeply rooted capitalism and a focus on money and power is into hoopla society. consumption sucks ass and wonder is fairly neutral (though would probably have a good amount of tech involved.) for TCPs, though? yeah. there's a reason why hearth is the biggest center for them having resources for kink and otherwise, aside from calliope (out of our system's named regions, anyway.)
different specialty things are 100% a thing. would be fun to develop those, i'm gonna put that in my pocket when thinking about characters and their preferences. will return to that later.
and yeah i definitely think security and safety are a big thing with how public you want to be as a morbitian sex worker/model, similar to the real world but on a much larger scale due to how easy it is to be Visible in a crowd and have notable identifiers. we've actually heard of similar modeling sessions to the confidence-building stuff but i cannot for the LIFE of me remember what that kind of thing is called. there are definitely services for it, though, in both the real world and morbit!
TCP voices would be soooo ideal for ASMR you're so right. i don't have any interest in the tingles aspect (i just do not get the reaction) but i enjoy sensory videos a lot for thinking about textures and materials- i feel like TCPs, who are so prone to developing interests in sensory aspects, would go apeshit for different types of sounds and voices and textures. roleplaying would be so prominent- possibly why something like soulmates took off? it would be fucking hilarious if there were stuff like how people on SL/VRchat have developed tech that syncs in game stuff with IRL devices with that game. i feel like working on communities where people use their typings to uplift each others' dysphoria is very much a thing in haven, though maybe more underground/reclusive. it's kind of expected in haven that you'll go with the flow on whatever your typing(s) are and people who don't fit those mold might be treated as kind of weird- that's why a lot of our TCPs in that assisted living facility we're working on are in there.
yeah wings dont ALWAYS just work but i feel like a lot of them do. it's totally up to whoever's writing/designing the character. some characters may have wings but feel incapable of using them as a mental block, whereas others don't have huge amounts of strength to use them. ultimately it is a cartoon universe and i want some of my characters to have itty bitty wings that work.

Fire Pit type is one that I did sorta recently that hit me with "would have a good voice for asmr" so fully agree. Honestly a lot where I have gone through the notes and been like "good voice, bad voice" especially since like.... unintelligible babble is an asmr thing so.... even a typeless would work. Argument could be made: Tcp are kinda made based on what people think about when they think of the Noun, so if they think of something like a bee they imagine it flying. Thus bee could, somehow, be able to fly.

fire pit makes total sense, and i could imagine that while i think youd have to be Pretty Brave to be in a physical relationship with one while lit (i dont actually know if theyre permanently lit??? and i still havent decided if TCP fire/lava/etc is as destructive as normal stuff. i want to say it's kind of charmander-y in that directly touching it will burn you but you're not constantly setting fire to shit by existing.) a lot of TCPs would enjoy the warmth of being near them. maybe laying next to one while they do ASMR voice stuff would be nice.
yeah there are definitely nearby settlements like that. i dont know how established or large they are, but i can definitely see it and that'd be an awesome thing to explore.

been a bit but let's revitalize discussion here. we've got some characters who have been relevant recently and we gotta discuss their deals. here's some overviews.
desmond- definitely horny, has done some saucy modeling but doesn't post it anywhere, just saves it for the day that he can someday share it with someone. he wouldn't mind if that person is maverick, but he's not about to send nudes to someone unprompted and fuck up a friendship. still, sometimes he wishes he could ask a little...
maverick- probably horny but repressing it. it tells itself repeatedly that magic isn't For that but it can't help but wonder about applications. has definitely made a sexy charm for someone and then gone "no this is ridiculous. i can't do this this is silly" and never did it again. it still gets morbit etsy requests on whether it could make another one because it ended up reviewing really good.
jerri- loves her husband. we don't have much down for jerri but she's probably ace but cuddly?
ichor- no idea.
butane- thirsty as fuck for cute women but he has a hard time expressing that and is kind of busy helping his sister out. still, he has a thing for cute femme TCPs, and while he has just about zero experience with anything related to sex or romance, he can't help but think about it from time to time. probably has a few dirty magazines stuffed into a corner of his room that he looks at and judges the models in. probably bisexual.
stellaris- has five million flings and uses them as a way to make potion sales- her boss fucking hates this and calls her a lot of shitty names for it, and truth be told, she doesn't get a lot out of it outside of the handful of guys who stick around and take her out for dates sometimes. nonzero amount of sugar daddies. has a thing for strong bad boys with a heart of gold, though finding one with the latter being prominent is hard to get.
adele- neutral on sex stuff, has tried it before and it's not for her. hard to tell if she just doesn't like people or if it's more of an ace thing, but for her, it's just not important. has to handle a lot of sex-related scraps though while traveling around motels, so she probably has a good idea of a lot of different kinds of experiences secondhand.
maurice zap- uhhh. stays single because he wants to remain a dreamboat bachelor to his adoring audience but probably does fantasize about a relationship with a hot, rugged guy. likes big TCPs that could pick him up and carry him around. if he's had partners before, it likely did not go well, and i could picture people accusing said partners of "stealing him". parasocial shit!

yeah that's a big concern for maurice. it's either date another celebrity and have people go rabid or date someone not in the spotlight and have paparazzi find out and make their life a living hell, and you never know if people are being genuine about it. he definitely has his big time connections, but it's hard to say how deep those bonds go. with some? definitely deep. others, they play it safe.
butane would enjoy soulmates but would need someone stellaris to get him into it. he'd be worried about being seen as cringe or a pervert and then proceed to make the most basic bitch tough guy avatar ever. stellaris would play if she was more computer savvy, and would probably have some kind of marble toy avatar. something curvy and full of paint swirls.

weiss- probably a little thirsty but doesn't have good vocabulary for it. i would not recommend dating weiss but we have some friends thirsting over it already so i guess there is a market for a lesbian needle doctor. i hope you enjoy
james- very Very Very thirsty for limbo specifically but unable to express that at all due to overseer surveillance- it is legitimately a security threat. would probably be into medical play but that would be very fucking difficult to do without simultaneously triggering either himself or limbo. aside from that, he likes limbo being a zombie- it's a very weird thing for a TCP to like, not because "ewww a corpse" like a complex would feel but because morbitian TCPs don't leave corpses, he kind of just sees limbo as a clammy squishy guy who needs to have his seams wiped up and re-stitched every so often. he thinks the awful rotting texture is unique to limbo and special, and would get very offended if anyone called his partner gross. would 100% play soulmates if people weren't stalking his computer access.
shrump- this guy gets around. they have two partners outside of the house (though i guess one of them is in there now...) and have made moves with mist, and they love doting on people soooo much- to a fault, as they can overextend and do so frequently. they love the idea of being precious to the people they love and it means so so much that mist was willing to try a piece of them. food type rituals are weird and vore-y!
mist- similar to james, mist would also get offended if anyone called shrump gross, but she's well aware that they are and they don't mind it at all. probably a little into vore but also knows that it's kind of a maladaptation of her ability and doesn't want to engage with that. very fond of kisses though, and would probably enjoy being submissive to an extent.
simon- ace, not aro. does not like sex stuff and thinks other people doing PDA stuff is gross. part of this is influenced by being on fire all the time.
george- also kind of perturbed by PDA but more just "agh i wish theyd be private about it". they do not engage with much but do enjoy reading romance novels and other fiction that can involve intimacy. it's just not for them.
bunny- sort of ace, has never had a partner but does wonder what it's like. doesn't matter now that he's dead! (or so he thinks...)
annabelle- not sure yet! being intimate with her does mean you have to be ready for dust in your face and all over you, though.

we've got a couple of introduced maze trials 2.0 characters! let's talk about them and their stupid gay asses. i will only be talking about revealed characters that our system specifically owns, for the sake of it all.
first off
issue #1: the food chain
corrosion and garland are the canon's first 100% heterosexual TCPs! wow! it's as stupid as you can guess! in all seriousness, both of them have concepts related to heteronormativity rumbling around in their heads for vastly different reasons, and this is...complicated for them. they are pretty much full of vile hatred for each other on fucking sight- partially just on principle- both of them have been taught that men are pigs, and women are to be sleazed on- and partially because both of them have been trained into that being the first reaction to Anyone. this is just the fastest way to convey that. they fucking loathe each other, even in the brief time they had together.
separately, corrosion would probably be an enormous bully (...p...positively?) if she ever got the chance to be intimate with someone, though she is probably too pent up in her biases and misanthropy to really consider it, at least for the moment. i could see her getting a thrill of being over in charge of things, though while she doesn't mean ill...she might get overzealous. she's got issues to work out, i can't see her in a relationship for a good while. ability use near-guaranteed, for better or for worse.
garland is "i love a woman who can kick my ass.png" and i mean that derogatorily. he's a fucking jackass and gets his impressions on sex and relationships from daytime television. i could see someone being into the hexes thing but that's not really relevant because he is very much exploded.

monopoly is too busy posting on twitter to date or consider this kind of thing. she is the kind of person who gets so wrapped up in the wrongs of the world (and especially her situation) that it's hard for her to see straight regarding more personal goals and interests. i will say if you were to flirt with her with a vore angle she'd beat you up. let this be a lesson to other maze trialgoers.
