[IN PROGRESS] Partly's Honeycomb Hunt

Partly lets Lumin lead, keeping pace as the second person in line.

The cave is dark and claustrophobic, nothing to see or talk about at first...just stretches of rock and dirt dimly lit by the party's equipment.

Their hazydaze leader doesn't even notice the first speckles of glowing rock on the walls, all different colors and levels of brightness. Xey seem too lost in thought...

Vial moves closer to the glowing rocks as they appear, looking at them amazed. They hop up and down on the spot excited turning their head to the rest of the group, their own glowing star head amidst a cluster of rocks.
"Look!! :O"

Lumin turns to look at Vial, then at the glowy rocks they're indicating.

It takes a claw and scratches at a larger glowy rock for a moment, wresting it free from its spot, before finally plucking it from the wall and examining it closely.

((Lumin has been in more than her fair share of caves and considers themself fairly knowledgeable. If this rock is somewhat common, he's probably seen it before))

"H-huh?" Partly turns around, xyr eyes widening as xey notice the rocks. "Whoa!!"

The rock in Lumin's claws is....strange.

It's unlike anything he's seen, but there's something about it that feels...familiar.

(has lumin read any books on folk legends? or anyone in the party, for that matter)

Lumin rotates the rock in his claws, peering at it from every angle.

"Huh. My best guess is some sort of magic, but honestly I've never seen these before in my life. They don't seem to be immediate effects on us, at least. Otherwise they would have happened already."

(vial probably knows some stuff! they're very magic and legend interested, especially if rocks like these could be used for potion making)

Dia looks at the rock from a distance, before prancing a few steps closer to Lumin.

"I didn't know they made rock probably not candy glowsticks..."

She has no idea what that is, but that will not stop it from making an assumption.

Vial's the first to recognize the rock, then- or at least, the closest approximation.

The glowing stones were rumored to exist in a few folk stories, but no one had seen them in at least a century...just a legend, passed down from critter to critter. Some even say they would guide the way to something truly special...

"These are really special!! :O" They hop up and down and spin around once in excitement. "They haven't been seen in many, many years... next to just being super pretty they're rumored to lead to lead those that find and follow them to something truly special!!"

[skinstealer]

"Oh, shit!" Partly shuffles from foot to foot, xyr clouds crackling with excited electricity. "Should we take some, do you think? Or should we keep going- maybe there's bigger ones down the tunnel!"

"Unless it's cursed, you can usually drop a rock...we might as well take something for now and swap it out if we need to later...so
who wants glowy rock duty."

Dia is slowly bouncing in place, like a video game idle animation.

"We might as well take this one, at least, since it's already separated from the wall." Lumin waves their rock around in one claw.

"I could probably find some other good ones to grab if people want more, but I'd say we should see what else is in here first. We can always come back for these."

"I'm.. with how nebulous their origin is.. and how rare they seem to appear... I'm not entirely sure I trust that they'll still be here if we lose sight of them and return. If you could get me one so I can pocket it myself as well that would be wonderful... Honey would love these.." They wiggle their lil tail a bit, looking at Lumin expectantly.

Partly tries pawing at one of the walls, xer expression turning strained as xey can't get any loose.

"...yeah, I might need your claws as well, haha..."

Lumin shrugs and stuffs his rock into a pocket on his backpack. One by one, he picks and scrapes at some relatively exposed glowies on the wall before yanking each one out and passing them to everyone present.

"That should be everyone. Does anyone want extras for their friends or something?"

Partly shakes xer head.

"I gotta save room for the honeycomb..."

Xey weigh the stone in their paws, falling back onto their back half and sitting upright. "Leading us to a special treasure, huh...maybe something bigger than just honeycomb, do you think?"

Dia tucks away two little rocks.
"Thank you, that should be plenty. Even if they're just glow rocks, who doesn't love glow rocks. Honestly a brilliant thing."

It then pauses for a moment, mulling over the question of what a special treasure could be, tapping a hoof to her face.
"Maybe there'll be an absurd amount of coins or gems so I can make one of those pile beds they call hoards...and lord over the portion of it and go 'who be ye who goeth there' and all that..."

Vial pockets a rock. "Thanks! :D"
"And hmm... honestly I feel like we all might find something different that's special, weird magic guides tend to alter to fit a person... though maybe it'll just see us as a group as a single entity, so who knows, really. I'm sure whatever it is will be lovely either way, if we can manage to find it...." They look a little lost in thought, slowly swooshing their tail as they wonder what lies ahead.
