			<description><![CDATA[<span style="font-weight: bold;" class="mycode_b">[SCRAP_GAZER]:</span><br /><br />...i have no idea if this is the correct place for what i'm dealing with, but it's worth a shot.<br />if you've seen me around the forums, you know that i am a scrap diviner that travels a lot. this means that i work on a laptop a lot of the time, on various hotel and motel internet connections. apparently, the one i was staying at recently had...<span style="font-style: italic;" class="mycode_i">problems, </span>because there appears to be a creature roaming my desktop and getting into trouble. it's already eaten some of my work files and i've only been able to identify it as a "gravebeak", which seems to be linked to this game, friendzoo.<br /><br />should i download the client to try and communicate with this creature? trying to type into note documents just makes it erase my text and shuffle the letters around. as far as i know, this behavior isn't even normal for the game's usual...and i really can't have this thing keep messing up my work!]]></description>

			<description><![CDATA[<span style="font-weight: bold;" class="mycode_b">[CRITTER_CATCHER]:</span><br /><br />hi, my name is mocha, i’m posting through critter_catcher’s account. he helped organize a bunch of the rasters that helped out the friendzoo development team and asked us what our thoughts were on the situation. we all have a lot of thoughts. but i am the best speaker in the group, so people elected me to speak in this post.<br /><br />when people see me. they see a cute licorice cat. and i am! i am made of sweets and i love looking at pictures of desserts and drinks and other sweet things like me. but it feels like people also see me as a pet. it took me time living with rags and the other rasters here to know that i am not a pet. or a program. i am a person. it was hard to understand at first because of the game i was in but i am working with rags to make more things that help assert personhood. i think it would be nice for rasters to have things like more decor. and things for hobbies that you TCPs can do. like cooking and knitting and puzzles. i think it would be nice.<br /><br />but we know that not everyone sees us like this. we knew when rags told us that we would be allowed to roam that not everyone would like that! but he also told us that TCPs are not so dissimilar. people don’t like it when you spawn in “weird” or “intrusive” places. people don’t like it when you ask for respect even though you are so much smaller and so much “stranger” than complexes. we are different in that we are on computers and phones. but we are still people. we want to be recognized and rags and crit went through a lot getting that to happen. but not everyone knows or wants to acknowledge that even if it is told to them.<br /><br />i have done a lot of research on the outside world and there’s a lot i dont understand. but i ask rags, and he tells me things. i remember hearing about body modification and things like hybridization and being very confused at first. people can change their bodies so drastically? it sounds cool, but kind of scary. and rags taught me that it is kind of both, depending on whether the person wants it. hearing that someone can go beyond that and alter the mind of a raster without asking them is definitely scary. but people in the external world face this too, at least with their bodies. i can’t speak for any of you. but considering the amount of TCPs that seem to be hurt through similar practices, it seems like something that should be approached carefully.<br /><br />if we cannot get rid of this kind of modding, which it doesn’t look likely, please educate the rasters you’re hosting and let them make their own decisions. it is very scary. they may become scared of you when you tell them. but they deserve to know. we’ll be putting the information that this kind of thing exists in spaces in the digital plane where rasters are prone to frequent, and try to spread awareness where we can.<br /><br />if any rasters read this, or are shown this: please know that you always have the choice to leave your host if things go awry. we’re working on setting up multiple refuge devices for rasters to go if hurt, both run by hosts and their rasters and some unmanned.<br /><br />thank you for listening, and thank you to crit for giving me this platform.<br /><br /><span style="font-weight: bold;" class="mycode_b">signed:</span><br /><span style="font-weight: bold;" class="mycode_b">mocha, wiggles, and sneaky</span>]]></description>

			<description><![CDATA[<span style="color: #4e5f70;" class="mycode_color"><span style="font-family: Courier New,Courier,monospace;" class="mycode_font"><span style="font-weight: bold;" class="mycode_b"><a href="https://homebrewdeviants.com/forum/Thread-USER-PROFILE-POEME-ELECTRONIQUE" target="_blank" rel="noopener" class="mycode_url"><img src="https://cdn.discordapp.com/attachments/1143089705064345620/1143089746638274580/FZelfieprofile.gif" loading="lazy"  alt="[Image: FZelfieprofile.gif]" class="mycode_img" /></a><br />[POEME_ELECTRONIQUE]:</span><br />with the recent public release of the virtual pet game 'friendzoo', there appears to be a glaring oversight in how one certain feature affects computer operators all accross morbit. the virtual creature programs themselves, which i will refer to as 'friendzoo rasters' or simply 'rasters' from here out, are given a form of pseudo-autonomy. friendzoo rasters are given the luxury of not only living on the designated sector of your harddrive they were deliberately installed upon, no, rasters are given the quite risky permissions to move around your operating system by themselves -- this includes moving over your network if your machine has access to the morbit mwide mweb.<br /><br />as far as i have been able to gather, friendzoo was not designed to be a malicious acting software, so this is by no means a call to remove your copy or to scrutinize the developer team. but you should be aware, whether you have the game installed or not, friendzoo rasters may very well find a way to access your system. in theory this seems like it some sort of intended feature for rasters to be able to venture out into other player's homes. but in practise, rasters tend to not be able to locate actual installs of friendzoo to place themselves into particularly well, nor do they come with a function to send them back 'home'. thus, you may end up with a raster present on your operating system that is stuck somewhere it can not be interacted with. this can cause issues, especially on older machines. if access the internet, specifically if you engage in file sharing or instant messaging, this leaves you open to friendzoo raster possibly tagging along your activity uninvited.<br /><br />one of the most obvious tell-tale signs for a raster having nested its way into your system without you knowing is immense slowdowns in very specific locations. you may find yourself unable to load certain folders, or having sudden unnatural spikes in CPU usage that have no other reasonable explanation. this may occur in a few areas for you even, rasters seem very fond of moving around in no particular pattern.<br /><br />getting to the actual point. in order to catch a raster and place it somewhere it is not causing problems, you can either attempt to find and relocate them manually -- this is easiest if you are already aware of what folder they may be inhabiting, remember to set your file explorer to 'show hidden files' and 'show extensions' (a raster's extension will generally be '.frn') -- or, the more accessible method would be to install (or start) friendzoo, and leave the game open with a sort of 'lure' item placed for a while. rasters, much like real animals perhaps, are programmed to be intrigued by their 'food' items. moreso than they are intrigued by the rest of your operating system, rasters are thankfully easily persuaded through digital snacks. in the simulation, if you leave the door open, the raster can safely make its way into the game by itself and operate as it was intended, with visuals and all.<br /><br />what can you do with a raster that has been caught? i am unsure at this time. not everyone has time for friendzoo shenanigans after all, and even when inserted back into their intended folder they may still decide to roam again. my suggestion is attempt to contact the previous raster owner, or try to find a new owner to send the rasters to. alternatively, i have noticed that a raster's roaming behavior will stop entirely while they are inside of an archived/compressed folder, but that is more of a temporary solution than a permanent one. rehoming rasters seems like it would be ideal. raster files can not be deleted. hope this helps for now.</span></span>]]></description>
			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<span style="color: #4e5f70;" class="mycode_color"><span style="font-family: Courier New,Courier,monospace;" class="mycode_font"><span style="font-weight: bold;" class="mycode_b"><a href="https://homebrewdeviants.com/forum/Thread-USER-PROFILE-POEME-ELECTRONIQUE" target="_blank" rel="noopener" class="mycode_url"><img src="https://cdn.discordapp.com/attachments/1143089705064345620/1143089746638274580/FZelfieprofile.gif" loading="lazy"  alt="[Image: FZelfieprofile.gif]" class="mycode_img" /></a><br />[POEME_ELECTRONIQUE]:</span><br />with the recent public release of the virtual pet game 'friendzoo', there appears to be a glaring oversight in how one certain feature affects computer operators all accross morbit. the virtual creature programs themselves, which i will refer to as 'friendzoo rasters' or simply 'rasters' from here out, are given a form of pseudo-autonomy. friendzoo rasters are given the luxury of not only living on the designated sector of your harddrive they were deliberately installed upon, no, rasters are given the quite risky permissions to move around your operating system by themselves -- this includes moving over your network if your machine has access to the morbit mwide mweb.<br /><br />as far as i have been able to gather, friendzoo was not designed to be a malicious acting software, so this is by no means a call to remove your copy or to scrutinize the developer team. but you should be aware, whether you have the game installed or not, friendzoo rasters may very well find a way to access your system. in theory this seems like it some sort of intended feature for rasters to be able to venture out into other player's homes. but in practise, rasters tend to not be able to locate actual installs of friendzoo to place themselves into particularly well, nor do they come with a function to send them back 'home'. thus, you may end up with a raster present on your operating system that is stuck somewhere it can not be interacted with. this can cause issues, especially on older machines. if access the internet, specifically if you engage in file sharing or instant messaging, this leaves you open to friendzoo raster possibly tagging along your activity uninvited.<br /><br />one of the most obvious tell-tale signs for a raster having nested its way into your system without you knowing is immense slowdowns in very specific locations. you may find yourself unable to load certain folders, or having sudden unnatural spikes in CPU usage that have no other reasonable explanation. this may occur in a few areas for you even, rasters seem very fond of moving around in no particular pattern.<br /><br />getting to the actual point. in order to catch a raster and place it somewhere it is not causing problems, you can either attempt to find and relocate them manually -- this is easiest if you are already aware of what folder they may be inhabiting, remember to set your file explorer to 'show hidden files' and 'show extensions' (a raster's extension will generally be '.frn') -- or, the more accessible method would be to install (or start) friendzoo, and leave the game open with a sort of 'lure' item placed for a while. rasters, much like real animals perhaps, are programmed to be intrigued by their 'food' items. moreso than they are intrigued by the rest of your operating system, rasters are thankfully easily persuaded through digital snacks. in the simulation, if you leave the door open, the raster can safely make its way into the game by itself and operate as it was intended, with visuals and all.<br /><br />what can you do with a raster that has been caught? i am unsure at this time. not everyone has time for friendzoo shenanigans after all, and even when inserted back into their intended folder they may still decide to roam again. my suggestion is attempt to contact the previous raster owner, or try to find a new owner to send the rasters to. alternatively, i have noticed that a raster's roaming behavior will stop entirely while they are inside of an archived/compressed folder, but that is more of a temporary solution than a permanent one. rehoming rasters seems like it would be ideal. raster files can not be deleted. hope this helps for now.</span></span>]]></content:encoded>

			<description><![CDATA[<span style="font-weight: bold;" class="mycode_b">[REMNANT_TREASURES]:</span><br /><br />hi everybody! with the launch of friendzoo, i was thinking we could get a little general chat going!<br /><br />i've been playing with my guy, castor, for a few months now- i was a beta tester for the game and my lil guy was a rescue from one of the other devs, [CRITTER_CATCHER]. he figured i could take better care of him, and the two of us get along really well!<br /><br />today, he's sitting with me while we watch videos together. we're keeping an eye out for any rescues in our "area" (hehehe how does that work digitally...) and i think our big focus will be helping with those!<br /><br />but, yeah! how's everybody's rasters doing?]]></description>
