discuss developing rp characters here, whatever goes

hrgrhrgrhrh its christmas eve and i decided to sit down and play with my TCPs like a kid playing with toys and random file generator decided to give me the HARDEST CANDIDATE TO WORK WITH, fucking, blush the library type

[3:11 PM] mortis velasquez: the storage type i literally have because i rolled them and went "well, theyre in my colors and i like libraries and i really should have at least one storage type"

im working on picking playlist stuff for them now to see if i can get a good vibe but god damnit it had to be hard mode first lmao

RE: rp dev general thread - King-Clod - 12-24-2020

What were the first skills it learned?
Where did it spawn?

RE: rp dev general thread - skinstealer - 12-25-2020

uhhh HM
im kind of leaning towards luxson, i really like luxson personally and while i havent developed its politics yet (and i am sure it has Problems because XXI is a dumbass), i feel like it'd be a nice place for a library type to live, and this would be a nice chill character

thinking they are also full of spooky stories and romance novels (and a mix of both) because i can do that, they are my character

skill wise, probably speech, writing, reading, and...i want to say dancing, partially because i think that'd be very funny, and something tells me this guy generated on darkest night, which partially inspired their interest in horror.

also: whipped up a design for their internal librarian NPC.

Oh library types come with little librarians inside? That's so cute!
Are they like a hivemind or do they both have a mind of their own?
How does checking out books work with a library type?

RE: rp dev general thread - skinstealer - 12-25-2020

made their little bio page, will expand later

NPCs in storage types vary, for the most part they're just a part of the storage type's subconscious, but some do end up developing identities of their own and are basically akin to system members- fluster is basically just a part of blush's subconscious that tends to wander off sometimes and read the books when blush is idly thinking to themself, kind of like wandering/intrusive thoughts more than anything else

also, from the dex:
"Library types contain a small pocket dimension within them, which is a small library. There are many different books on the shelves, as well as a few cozy chairs to read in. Anyone may enter, but any books they leave with will teleport back inside the library after three days. In addition, the inside of the library is completely soundless. No amount of screaming or stomping will ever produce so much as a whisper."

RE: rp dev general thread - Lilium Mortem - 01-03-2021

Ok so I'm working on developing two characters I introduced in the Real Earth Society fanwork as RP characters. This is AC, a Collective made of earth stuff, and Penny, Their assistant.

AC is a witch, because of course they're gonna mess with magic, it's magic. Their stuff is extremely specific and finnicky, and they're usually the only one aside from maybe penny, that can work with it. They are into the occult, the weirdest stuff morbit can offer, because again: Magic. I cannot stress this enough: Magic is real, AC is like a kid who actually freaking got their Hogwarts letter and will tell that to your face regardless if you get the reference.

Penny is Their assistant, a teen, maybe 14-17. AC adopted her a few years back after her parents abandoned her. Thinking of making her a Concept, and adding a third character to the mix: An Axolotl Type TCP. Their ability halts natural aging processes so I think the Axolotl Type has been with Penny for a while, with AC's hope being that they can help her settle on a motif once she's grown up some more mentally, using magic to tell what her current motifs are, and prepping for a safe metamorphosis with as much magical safety gear as they can make.

Not sure where to put them. not the Concept home region, and not Taverne. Maybe plaza? Idk.

if anyone has questions or suggestions lemme know.
